About Charlie Fortney: A former division 1 player and professional athlete, Charlie highlighted his playing background with a great ability to shoot with precision, quickness and accuracy. Charlie has worked one-on-one with college and professional athletes to enhance shooting, and his critique and instructions yield positive results. Congratulations to Charlie for recently being inducted into the Central PA Sports Hall of Fame.
About Gerald Jarmon: A former starting point guard for the University of Richmond, Gerald has toured several countries with a semi-professional team. Gerald has coached at the college and high school levels, and has been training young athletes for over 10 years. Advanced Hoops is proud to have him on staff.

This class is Filled with drills that are taught on the College and Pro Levels. These drills will be taught by Advanced Hoops Staff that include some former College and Pro Players. Key areas of focus are Defense, Quickness, Passing, Strength, Shooting, Ball Handling & Offensive Footwork principles.
Sundays 2:15 - 3:15 (5th & 6th Grade)
Sundays 3:15 – 4:15 (7th & 8th Grade)
Individual players trying out will be placed
on teams of 8 players maximum with an
emphasis on balancing teams.

Game Day Format – 2 HOUR Window
- Practice Time - 30 minutes
- Game Time (Each Team play three 12min game
segments in a 90 min period)
- 4 Teams rotate in this format each week playing
each other one time
- We expect 8 – 12 teams per division, rotating to
play different teams each week
Coaching
Advanced Hoops Staff will coach each team
during game segments and practices. Coaches
will use the evaluation day, scrimmage week,
and 30 minutes during each game day format to
instruct players on Motion Offense and Man to
Man Defensive Principles
UNIFORMS
Each player will receive an Advanced Hoops
game reversible ($18 extra fee charged)
REFEREES
1 PIAA official and 1 Coach official. The Coach
will emphasize the Fundamental Playing Rules
and the Referee will keep the game clean and
call fouls

- All Motion on Offense (Teaching Constant Movement)
- Fundamental Rule Guidelines
Each Player will compete in three 12min game
segments each week. Over 10 weeks (Dec 15 – Feb 16)
players will compete in 30 game segments. With smaller
rosters the playing is equivalent to 15 CYO or Junior
High Basketball games.
- 8 Players Per Team Max (Exception for School Teams)
- Three 12min Games Each Week (36min Total)
- Clock will stop last :30sec (if 5 point game)
- 1pt awarded when player is fouled on missed shot
& ball underneath (last :30, shoot both shots)
- 1pt awarded when player is fouled on made shot
- No Time Outs
To provide a Middle School Basketball opportunity that
will give players necessary playing time to improve
confidence and skill level.
Individuals
- Any players in 6th - 8th grade who either played school
ball and want more game time, or did not make the
team and need to gain experience.
Teams
- If a team of players from the same school want to sign
up, we are willing to place them together. School
Teams may have 10 – 12 per roster (8 recommended)

December 8th : Evaluation Day
NCAA Girls: 8:00 – 9:15am (6th/7th Girls)
NCAA Boys: 9:15 – 10:30am (6th/7th Boys)
WNBA: 11:00 – 12:15pm (7th/8th Girls)
NBA: 12:15 – 1:30pm (7th/8th Boys)
(Parents of 7th graders can choose which try-outs
to attend. However, Advanced Hoops will
recommend final placement.)
December 15th - Scrimmage Day
Normal Game Day format. This weekend will be
used to teach principles adjust teams to balance
them out
December 22nd - 1st Game Day
December 29th – Feb. 9th
(8 consecutive weeks of the in house program)
February 16th – Championship Weekend!
(Both for NCAA and NBA)
