European Korean Aerospace Experts Group
Call for Paper for Aerospace and Mechatronics in EKC2014
Europe has the most advanced Aerospace Industry in the world, and South Korea is currently putting in a great
deal of efforts to catch up. During its 20+ years of aerospace development history, Korea has had several success
stories – including the recently launched Naro-1 satellite – and has demonstrated a proven capability in military
aircraft manufacture. However, establishing a series of potential collaborations with European
organizations/industries could clearly further boost the development of the Korean aerospace industry.
This year, EKC2014 will host joint sessions between Aerospace and Mechatronics, to demonstrate the current
state-of-the-art technologies in both areas, share the vision of future trends and development priorities, and seek
potential collaborations between Korean and European organizations and institutions.
We welcome all technical and policy development papers in the following key Aerospace and Mechatronics
research areas, and other related topics:
Structural Design & New Materials
Thermo-Fluidics, Aerodynamics, Gas turbine engines
GNSS - Global Navigation Satellite System
Aerospace Electronics, Control and Telecommunications
Small Satellite Missions, Technologies and Services
Space Exploration
Robotics and Mechatronics

EKC 2014 - Science and Technology for Humanity
EKC (EU-Korea Conference) was established in 2008 with its first gathering in Heidelberg, Germany. Since then, the conference has grown from 300, to 800 participants at the last event in Brighton, UK (EKC 2013), demonstrating the excellent scientific and technological relationship between the EU and Korea.
Since 2011, the main European Korean Scientists and Engineers associations have formed a common Programme Committee, and for EKC 2014 all Korean Scientists and Engineers associations from participating countries are finally united to promote the current state-of-the-art science and technology for humanity.
This year's Conference will be held in Vienna, Austria, the heart of European culture and music. Vienna is also the home of the UN IAEA, with several key technology sectors and technology center, and some of the world’s most prestigious museum collections.
The conference also offers a programme for family members, including junior science school, museum tours, and sightseeing experiences.
