Working Principle:
The measuring principle of electromagnetic flow meter is based onthe electromagnetic induction law of Farady. The sensor is mainlycomposed of measuring tube with isolate lining, a pair of electrodesinstalled by penetration of the measuring tube wall, a pair of coils andiron core to produce working magnetic field. When the conductive fluidflows through the measuring tube of the sensor, the voltage signal indirect proportion to the average flow velocity of the fluid will be inductedon the electrodes. The signal is amplified and treated by the transmitterto realize various display functions.

1.0 M3/P .The width of pulse can be set to 20ms or squired wave from
automatically. The collector of transistor with photoelectric is open circuited.
The external voltage must be lower than 35 V and maximum output current is
250Ma when the transistor is turned on .
Accuracy±0.5% of the value displayed ,±0.3% or ±0.2% are selectable.

Selection principles
The measured liquid must be conducing liquid of which the conductivity should be more than 5 μ
s/cm .If the conductivity less than 5 μs/cm , the flow meter should use the dual core and dual shield wirewith equal potential .The medium shouldn’t containt much magnetic matter or air bladder .Pressure grade,lining material ,electrode material and structure type should be selected according to the medium’stemperature ,corrosiveness,abration, etc.
Normally the caliber of flow meter should be same as the pipe diameter. For AFTLD electromagneticflow meter has 1500:1 high scope.
Recommended flow rate is 1~3m/s if the medium contains liquid grains. Select higher caliber to makedown the flow rate and reduce the abration to the lining and electrode if the actual flow rate is too big andnot easy to install.
Recommended flow reta is 2~5m/s if there is deposit in the pipe. Select low caliber to exceed the flowrate and reduce the affluence to the accuracy from the deposit if the actual flow rate is too small and noteasy to change the pipe .
Smaller caliber sensor is recommended to promote the flow rate and ensure the accuracy if the flowrate is too small and high accuracy required .Variation caliber pipe should be installed up strteam anddownstream for the above situation 2.3.4.The cone angle of variation caliber pipe shall not be more than15°,the upriver length of straight pipe should be above 5D of variation caliber pipe.

Attentions for the Sensor Installation:
Place and position to install the sensor may be selected according to needs.May install ithorizontally,obliquely or vertically.However,the axis of the two electrodes shall be generally inthe horizontal position.No matter which way is selected for installation,the pipeline shall besurely filled with medium under measurement.There shall never be any non-full pipe sectionor any air bubbles to congregate in the pipeline
Flow direction: The arrow on the sensor indicates the forward flow direction . Because the distance between the sensor flange and outside case is limited,the connecting
bolt shall be inserted from the lateral side of the pipe.This requires an enough space at theflange of the sensor connecting pipe.
If the pipeline system is subject to strong vibration,it is necessary to add supports to thepipeline on the two sides of the sensor.
If the medium under measurement is a grave foul liquid,or a luquid,easily fouling in thepipeline,it's better to install the sensor on a by-pass pipe for easier cleaning.(as the figureshows)
Never allow any ferrous magnetic objects to be set closely to the sensor.The sensor shall bekept far away from any strong electromagnetic fields which may affect the sensor's magneticfields and signal voltage.
For the needs to check the zero point,the sensor shall be full of medium and set the flowspeed at zero.This can be
effected by closing the stop valves mounted both on the upper and lower reaches of thesensor.These valves shallnot be mounted in the area smaller than 5xDN in the upper reaches and 2 x DN in the lowerreaches. To avoid whirlpool to form after the valves have been mounted,it is necessary to check
carefully to guarantee acocentric installation of both the sealings and the earthing ring. To avoid interference,the signal cable and the power-supply cable or exciting current cable
shall not be laid in asame steel tube.When arrange them in a parallel way they shall not be too close to each other,butkeeping a certaindistance between each other. The length of the straight pipe in the upper reaches of the sensor shall not be less than
5DN,that in the lowerreaches shall not less than 2DN. DN is the path diameter of the sensor. In case this requirement

can be met on the spot, a flow orthosis device shall be mounted in the upper reaches to eliminatethe whirlpools to form in the medium flow and improve the flow field distribution,raise themeasurement accuracy and stability.In case the sensor and theconnection tube are different in the caliber,it is necessary to add a specially shaped tube with twodifferently sized ends. In order to ensure the measurement accuracy shall carry out the installationas per the figure.(See the figure).
Suggestions for correct installation of the electromagnetic flow meter :To avoid measurement errors caused by air congregation in the pipeline and damage of the
lining inside the sensor caused by the negative pressure such formed, please,pay attention to thefollowing points:
