Peyton and I have enjoyed getting to know the kids better through Children’s Bible Hour this summer. We truly believe the more time kids get to go and learn more about God is an amazing thing, and it really lays a strong foundation for their future. This summer the kids have been learning about things in the home; they are learning about everyday items and they are seeing these earthly items come alive with spiritual appli-cation. For example, lets take the mouse trap, is just like temptation, the cheese might look delicious and beautiful, but as soon as the mouse indulges, it gets hit by the trap. Satan does the same thing in our lives, he makes sin look like no big deal, just one piece of big delicious cheese, but we know what the Bible says in James 1, “The desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.”. Sin brings forth death, we all know that, and so we must always be looking for those ways of escape He provides for us. Children’s Bible Hour is just another opportunity for our children to be in Bible study and learn more about the amazing God we get to serve. We would love your help this fall to come help us teach on Sunday nights, we promise it is very simple, and you will grow so much just by being around our amazing children here, they are truly inspiring, and so eager to learn more about our God. The sign up is posted in the hallway, under the Tweens and Jesus’ Lambs sign. We would love to have you on board with us! Philip (but mostly Peyton)

Today’s Sermons - July 24th
AM - A Threefold Cord, Aubrey Johnson

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work Aubrey Johnson What is your favorite team? The Braves? Falcons? Hawks? My favorite team of all time is the triumphant trio of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Together they are mighty, victo-rious, and undefeated. Talk about effective teamwork. In the beginning, God spoke the world into existence, the Son executed the Father’s command, and the Spirit hovered over the face of the deep to bring order out of chaos and create a life-sustaining planet. At His baptism, Jesus submitted to fulfill all righteous-ness, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove to confirm His holy identity, and the Father proudly proclaimed, “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.” At the cross, Jesus died to defeat death; the Father darkened the sun, shook the earth, and tore the veil signifying the opening of a new and living way into His presence; and the Spirit re-mained to guide the apostles, inspire the writers of Scripture, and indwell the redeemed. Throughout history, the Godhead worked seamlessly and tirelessly to accomplish the salvation of mankind. In particular, He wanted you and your family to be with him in heaven for all eternity. And He wants you to be part of his team carrying the good news to others. As you go about your work, remember that the Godhead is the model for all spiritual teams. Families are blessed when husbands, wives, and children put each oth-ers interests before their own. Churches are blessed when elders, deacons, and minis-ters are trustworthy and respectful as they go about their individual tasks. God loves teamwork and uses teams to accomplish His will. In eternity, heaven will house earth’s most successful teams (Hebrews 11.38). Some will have bigger-than-life reputations by virtue of their place in Scripture. Others will go unnoticed by most. A few humble notables worthy of our appreciation are PTC’s dedicated Bible class teachers and active growth group members (please remember our GG celebration next Sunday after evening service). In the body of Christ, there are many ways to serve to advance God’s Kingdom, but everyone must find a way to contribute (1 Corinthians 12.12-31). Make no mistake, it is teamwork that makes the dream work. So, have you found your place on God’s team (Ephesians 4.11-16)?

Fourth of July Fun!
How many of our church family are in the college-age group?
Would you guess 5? Maybe 10?
Would it surprise you to know that it's 24??
This church has an amazing group of college-age members , each with specific gifts given to them ,from our Lord, and
we are blessed to have them, as part of our congregation.
You are familiar with our recent high school graduates (who we include in our college age) but let's play a little game
with this past year's college group. See if you can match each student below (minus our recent high school gradu-
ates) with the University they are associated with:
Morgan Meacham Jelly Winfrey Gwinnett Tech
Benjamin Weinhardt Brody Harding University of Florida
Nick Wilson Emily Parsons Auburn
Lilly Thomas Hannah Sims Freed-Hardeman
Alex Huber Jonathan Sims Harding
Ann Moore Alex Blevins U.S. Naval Academy
Nolan Huber Breann Pritchett Mercer
Hudson Huber Chipper Machemehl Syracuse University
Amber Adams Spencer England Georgia State
Ava Spangler Brandon England Faulkner University
Sarah Boyd Maurya Dickerson Clayton State
Lizzie Keown Camille Edwards Kennesaw State
Troy State University
LaGrange College
UGA
As you can see--we are so very blessed by the number listed here along with all the different universities that are
educating our college kids. Suzette Weinhardt has taken on the responsibility of care packages for this group. Please
let her know if you'd like to help with that. Coming soon: Match the college-age member with their summer job.
Keeping the Faith in the 2020s
(Gospel Advocate, September 2015)
In 1983, Gospel Advocate editor emeritus ,Ira North, closed his book ,Balance, writing: “ God does not re-
quire that we be big, or wealthy, or powerful, or super smart. What our Heavenly Father requires is faithful-
ness. The important thing and the absolutely essential thing is for us to be faithful.
The apostle Paul teaches us that faithfulness is ours to plant and water and cultivate, but God’s to give the
increase. Let us not be too interested in numbers or bigness, but let us be vitally interested in faithfulness. “
As we encourage one another in the work of the Lord, let us always keep this standard before us. Keeping
ourselves, our families, and our congregations focused on faithfulness, we will be prepared to face all the
future will hold.
