Longer growing season in rich agricultural areas such as
Europe and North America will increase food production
Increased food production could get some countries’
economies stronger and increase global trade.
An additional 220-240 million people may be at risk from malaria
particularly in China and central Asia. Tropical diseases in Africa likely
to spread to North of continent
The diseases will slow down countries’ economies and could
spread and cause real damage to the end of the world
Energy consumption may go down as temperatures increase in
densely populated parts of the world such as north-west Europe
Higher sea levels may flood low-lying areas such as Bangladesh and
the Netherlands, threatening the lives of millions
Frozen regions of the world such as Siberia and northern
Canada may be able to grow crops in a milder climate
These regions will be able to trade more and be more
self-reliant.
Loss of glaciers (fresh water) in the Himalayas may threaten
agriculture and water supply in India, Nepal and China.

used by shipping

is considerable concern about polar bears in the Arctic
