Vo ice
A vo ice i s a sound that you make in your throat . Touch your throat as you ta lk , and you can fee l your vo ice .
The letter ‘z ’ has a vo ice . It says ‘zzzz , ’ wh ich sounds l ike a busy, buzz ing bee . If you put your hand on your throat , you can fee l your vo ice making the ‘zzzz’ sound .
Shape
The letter ‘z ’ i s made of stra ight l ines , sort of l ike some of the str ipes on a zebra .
But the letter ‘s ’ i s curvy l ike a snake; the letter ‘s ’ doesn’t have any stra ight l ines .

If you put eyes on top of a letter ‘z ’ and a letter ‘s , ’ they would be look ingin d ifferent d irect ions .
Remember, the letter ‘z ’ i s a lways the last letter in any a lphabet song, so i f the letter ‘z ’ wants to see another letter, i t has to look at the letters that came BEFORE it .

But the letter ‘s ’ doesn’t have a vo ice . Like a snake, the on ly sound i t makes is ‘ ssss , ’ wh ich is a sound you make by push ing a ir over your tongue (You don’t use your vo ice to make the ‘sss ’ sound .) .
