‣The goal of French immersion programs is to provide
youth with the opportunity to become functionally
bilingual, to be able to work in both official languages and
to appreciate cultures other than their own.

In PEI, LFI begins in Grade 7
Grade 7 -8 (late) 80% or 240 minutes/2160 hrs
Grade 9 (late) 50% or 150 minutes/1350 hrs
Grade 10-12 25% or 75 minutes/675 hrs
