Conclusions – While Respondents Believe They are Making Good Use of Analytics, Gaps Still Exist
Organizational structures around analytics vary and are likely inefficient - 36.4% say that both business and IT departments have analytic resources, but they function independently
People spend only 14.1% of their time on data analysis/mining. They spend almost the same amount of time on requirements gathering (13.4%), which can be error prone
Lack of skills, training, and education is the biggest factor holding back greater use of analytics – 18.75% of respondents
There is no significant source for education on analytics – 63.6% do not rely on any organization for ongoing education and networking
