Hiriko CityCar
What possibilities unfold
when the world’s leading engineers
and designers collaborate to tackle
carbon emissions?
The Agents • MIT and Hiriko are designing a
revolutionary car that could
drastically reduce carbon
emissions from city driving
The Idea • It’s electric, it’s foldable and it’s
smaller than the Smart Car
The Potential • Changing how we drive—and
how we park—in cities
Siel Bleu
How dramatically could we improve the
health of our ageing population if we
implemented programs of care—at scale?
The Agents
• Classic social innovators working
through their own civil society
organisation
The Idea
• Bring health benefits—and everyday
joy—to the elderly through regular group
fitness programming
The Potential
• Help more than 60,000 elderly—first in
France, and soon all around Europe—
maintain independence and health
Housing First
How would our response to homelessness
change if considered housing as a right to be
respected, not a privilege to be earned?
The Agents • The model was first developed and tested
in the US, but quickly spread and is now
tested by NGOs, foundations and
governments around the world
The Idea • Access to permanent housing is seen as
the first response to homelessness,
social, health and other support is then
provided independently.
The Potential • Better residential stability outcomes and
is cost-effective.; itincurs public
expenditure savings through reductions
in use of emergency health services and
the criminal justice system.
GoodGym
How can we take advance of the wasted
energy people use in gyms to meet the
needs of isolated people in our
communities?
The Agents • Everyday people who wants to combine
doing good with physical exercise
The Idea
• GoodGym connects people who want to
get fit with physical tasks that need to be
done, and which benefit the community.
The Potential
• GoodGym is now open to everyone in
East London, and is looking for national
partners to take the project to the next
stage. Good Gym wants to rival the
success of gyms, getting people all over
the world off treadmills and into their
communities.
