Airspace Change Process
• Airspace Charter (CAP 724) provides a high-level description of CAA’s responsibilities and principles to conduct the planning of airspace in the UK
• CAA Guidance on the Application of the Airspace Change Process (CAP 725) provides guidance on the process for changes to UK airspace
• Compliant with National Law• Sets CAA’s Statutory Duties• Section 70 Air Transport Act 2000• Air Navigation Directions 2001 (2004)
• Regulator: • Owns, and is fully responsible for, the Airspace Change Process (ACP)
• Change Sponsor:• Owns, and is responsible for developing, the airspace change proposal
• Provides a framework for Change Sponsors• Abides by criteria set out in HM Government’s Consultation Principles• Defines the Roles and Responsibilities of stakeholders• Provides specific guidance for consultation and environmental assessments
• Environmental Guidance to the Civil Aviation Authority on Environmental Objectives Relating to the Exercise of its Air Navigation Functions (2014) – the ‘Air Navigation Guidance’
