spurts and stumbles for years

Reality: It takes time – and
investment before ROI kicks in
Assumption: “You need mountains of
data to be truly data driven.”
Reality: You need the right data at
the right time
Assumption: “It's all going to be
done for us. All we have to do Is hit a switch.”
Reality: Digital technologies, as
with traditional systems,
requires expertise, active
management to deliver value.
Assumption: “Everything these days needs to be real-time,
super fast.”
Reality: Business is about
relationships, which take time to grow and
flourish
Assumption: “Data is at risk in the cloud (or other digital
settings)”
Reality: Data may be more
secure within cloud services than in on-
premises data centers
A Caveat: One More Think to Think About for Data Security in the Cloud "While some [cloud providers] will undertake to make the necessary number of backups, most will not warrant data integrity, or accept liability for data loss.” -Stanford Technology Law Review
