Singularity 80 x 80 cm, oil on canvas, available
It signifies the beginning of everything; if metaphysicians and theorists are correct all
that we see sprung from a single point. This is surrounded by nothingness, blurred
nuances that express the vastness of the unknown. Maybe our entire Universe is just a
singularity waiting to explode and create a new world.
Truth 80 x 60 cm, oil on canvas, available
Truth is something we are all confronted with and everything in ones life gravitates
around it. To look at it for what it is is but our choice. When doing so different instances
occur; of torment, of reflection, of realisation and hopefully of liberation. Beginnings are
put under a magnifier to see everything that relates to that truth; be it insignificant
moments, demons (fears) or unknown participants, all falls under the same roof.
Shamanic practices and tools are
often used, speeding thus the
death of the EGO.
Lost soul 50 x 60 cm, acrylics on canvas, available
This is a love piece. The man is in search of his beloved (you can distinguish a girls
figure in the clouds from the centre all the way to the left of the painting) without which
he feels lost in a grey world and slowly starting to fade away.
It is a reminder of our purpose and joy in life, which is the presence of a loved one.

Inspiration 50 x 50 cm, oil on canvas, not available
This is a piece commissioned for a good friend of mine. He came to me with a proposal
for an album cover and related how he found inspiration for creating music in sounds
and instances that occurred in nature, somewhere a bit far from the tumult of the city.
In the bottom in can be discerned a highway which transforms in a beat wave; same for
the walking trails and fields surrounding the creator (the face floating in bottom left).
The sunset and mountains also represent the flow of nature and harmony which music
encompasses.

Clar de Luna (Clearness of the Moon as translated from Romanian) 50 x 60 cm, acrylics on canvas, not available
This is actually my first piece ever made. It was the catalyst of all that followed, as it
happened purely by accident. I got hold of a broken canvas (you can see it slightly left
above the fence) and from abundance of curiosity I started painting it for the novelty of
it.
I was always fascinated by darkness and saw beauty in it, in spite of the fear and
anxiety that inspires. It can be easily seen that the Moon is the subject of the piece,
being for many years now an object of wonder and melancholy for many artists and
writers. The reflection of the celestial object is a representation of man (water being a
worldly substance) as a mirror for all the beauty the Universe has to offer; being
distorted it shows the flaws of men, but it can reach perfection if we could just calm
our waters.
Life on Jupiter 120 x 40 cm, acrylics on canvas, available
Through imagination everything is possible; so why not life on Jupiter? It is seen
however, with humans out of the picture; this way the Universe with its galaxies can be
observed without any hindrance from artificial light. The four celestial objects are the
Galilean moons of Jupiter (from left to right): Io, Ganymede, Callisto and Europa.
Beautiful ugliness 50 x 40 cm, acrylics on canvas board, available
There is no such thing as something ugly. No matter the repellence an object or person
inflicts on one, one can find beauty in everything; it is just a matter of looking. One must
rid oneself of any filter that can harm the original picture, leaving thus behind
prejudices, appearances, knowledge and pride.
Void 40 x 30 cm, acrylics on canvas, not available
Everything around us is mostly comprised of space. Even our bodies and the reality we
see and consider as material, are but atoms kept together by strange forces, but with
space between one another none the less. The colours that abashes one every now and
then are an illusion created by light; so why wouldn`t all material things be just another
illusion?
Many support the idea
that we come from
nothingness and go back
to nothingness; what
then can be between two
singularities of
nothingness? I can but
wonder; an answer to
such a question would
make the answerer God.
Or a mere pedant.
This piece reminds me of
our lack of knowledge
about our world and also
the vastness of the
Universe. Every small dot
is a Sun if not a galaxy; a
good example of how
intricate All is.
About the artist
I am 24 years old and a London based artist; even though the word artist is something
that I try avoid using because of the identity that comes with it and the struggle that
leaves behind, we can stick to that for now.
I would like to leave my work speak for itself, thats the reason you see these few words
about me on the last page. I started painting quite by accident; a few lines are in
Clearness of the Moons description. With this said I hope I can inspire some of you,
who get a hold of this, to follow your instinct and don`t give up on something before
trying it only from the premises that you might not be good at it.
It is said a picture is worth 1000 words. What is a picture with a meaning worth then?
As you can see every painting has a deeper meaning that can be at first sight observed;
this is because I believe everything that one creates, it holds many answers as to what
lies in ones mind and soul. Creation is not only the one found in the already celebrated
categories such as art, sculpture, literature, fashion etc. It can mean a thought, a
feeling, a choice of clothes, likes and dislikes, a sneeze. So sneeze away! Don`t hold
back. Just remember to look at what you leave behind; maybe you can understand
yourself a bit more from doing so.
I leave with you now my creation; my thoughts, my feelings and my fears and cravings. I
leave myself with you. Throw it, rip it, burn it, post it or ignore it; it doesnt matter really.
I just hope I might`ve inspired you, even if in the slightest way possible.
All the best.
Sincerely,
Mihai Paul
