Unit 31.1 Photographers
Emma Carey
Thierry Cohen
This photo shows what it may look like in a dystopian world, The buildings are old and decaying, there is graffi@ plastered all over buildings make it look like its been deserted, there is no lights on in the building and the street lamps are not on, making it look dark and cold. The sky is bright and full of colours, with a “galaxy” effect, showing maybe it’s in a different galaxy or even a different world. I like how bright the sky looks through all the grey and black buildings.
Thierry Cohen has been a professional photographer since 1985 and from the end of the 80s on a pioneer in the use of digital techniques. He lives and works in Paris.
Thierry Cohen’s photography is usually landscape I think his photos are fine art and the are for décor. Thierry wanted to show places in complete darkness, I think he added/edited the sky aRer taking the photo aRer to make it looks like a dystopian world I don’t think them image has an story behind it, I think the photo has a lonely and cold, an the photo looks very depressing but the sky makes it look like there is hope .
Mark Neurdenburg
Mark Neurdenburg was born on the 26th of July in the City of London in the borough of Kensington in the United Kingdom, Mark always liked taking photos even from a young age. In 1972 Mark’s Grandmother brought back a Kodak Instama@c 100 camera from the US for his birthday
Mark’s photos are of dark/ mysterious landscapes, although this photo looks quite relaxing and peaceful, it looks as if the path is never ending or it might lead somewhere. I think the purpose of the photo is to show that even though the photo is dark its also quite calm. Rule of thirds have been used as it goes from dark to light from leR to right. I think the photo has no narra@ve although it looks very dark and mysterious, it looks very lonely but the path makes it look there is hope.
