ooking out of an old glass window from thetop of a Downtown New York City housing project, Pazi cant help butsmile. It was only two years ago to the day that he was living in theexact same room looking out of that exact same window. Along withthe help of his brothers and sisters, Pazi made it out of that room andinto a whole new world. A world that once seemed so far away to thepoint where he felt as though he could only dream of it. “I nepoint where he felt as though he could only dream of it. “I never sawmyself living anywhere besides this room.” said Pazi. “When I sawmy brother die over gang violence, that was the turning point.” Pazi, who is the youngest of eight siblings, was determined to never giveup on his dreams and keep god first, “I wasnt’ big on going to churchwith my parents. I was always the one who would play sick come Sun-day. “I think my mom knew I was faking, but she would always ask meif I needed some soupif I needed some soup”. said Pazi. “Once I finally picked up a bible andstarted to read about the lord, I became a new person” says Pazi. A tripto church that following Sunday would change his life forever. Pazi, astrong believer in god, could not understand the bible until it was brokendown to him into three simple words. “Live or Die”. Which is what hispreacher said to the chrch on that Sunday morning. Since that day, Pazihas been motivated and has set a goal to become the first in his familyto gto graduate from college, get a job and support his future family.*
