QUESTION: My doctor diagnosed me with rosacea. What can I do to help minimize the redness?
ANSWER: In addition to any prescriptions your doctor gave you, here are some helpful tips. Start with a green concealer under your make-up. This will help to minimize the redness. Use a mineral make-up with a built in sunscreen. A concealer brush can be used with the mineral make-up on specific areas that need more coverage. Use a mild cleanser and avoid soap on your face. A mild scrub can be used to slough off dead skin such as Dermalogica’s Daily Microfoliant. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments can be done at your doctor’s office, which would make the redness less pronounced. Getting monthly rosacea/calming facials are recommended to promote healthy skin. To schedule a facial with Amy Martin,

“I absolutely love weddings,” says Rita Frelich of Rita Frelich Artography. “They are so beautiful and I’m not only talking about the decor, flowers, bridal gown, etc. I am talking about two people making a commitment to spend the rest of their lives together and the joining of two families.” Frelich is a full-time photographer although that wasn’t always the case. “I had a full-time job while I was starting out in photography in a totally unrelated field. It worked out pretty well to have a full-time job and photograph weddings for a while, but soon I was booking so many weddings and portrait sessions that I could not keep up with editing photos and generally running my business. So I quit my job, which was scary at first. Now I just feel so blessed to be doing something I really love!” says Frelich. When photographing, Frelich says she doesn’t believe she has just one style. “I am greatly influenced by my surroundings and my clients themselves. I do strive to come up with unique ways to photograph each wedding. I also like to try and use as many different sources of light as possible when shooting weddings and portrait sessions. I use everything from natural light, off camera lighting, down to a small flashlight I keep handy, so I can add dynamic effects to any photo. I also develop different editing processes which I think makes my photos have a style all their own.” Frelich has been photographing weddings all over South Louisiana and a few in Mississippi, and says she continues to expand her coverage such as the weddings she will be shooting in Miami, FL and
Fairhope, AL later this year. When traveling Frelich only charges travel fees if a hotel, airfare, etc. are necessary. Frelich photographs all weddings herself. She does, however, have second shooters available to accompany her if a couple would like more than one photographer at their wedding, but “I am ALWAYS there with my camera strapped on,” says Frelich. All clients get a proof site for their wedding, bridal portraits, and engagement portraits. Each proof site has a unique name and password. The site can be shared with family and friends so that they can order prints or just view the photos. There’s even a place to leave messages for the bride and groom. Frelich says, “The most important tip I can give a bride is to book the photographer, florist, band, etc. as soon as she can so that she gets what she really wants for her big day and does not have to settle for someone else. The second tip, is to have fun with her entire wedding experience.” “I am always honored when I am chosen by a

couple to capture their wedding day. I catch myself grinning from ear to ear quite often at the weddings I photograph. Sometimes I even cry and sometimes I dance, but mostly I take pictures. The ones you are going to want to look back on to remember the day you became husband and wife.” In addition to photography, Frelich also provides custom designed products such as save-the-dates and invitations. “Please visit my website www.ritafrelichartography.com to view my work and find out more about me. You can also find me on Facebook and become a fan.” adds Frelich.
