Do most web geeks love beer, bacon and play time?
Yes … yes they do
And I’m not much different
- Along with many hours tweaking code- Spending time with my kids- Being with friends and family in Olinda- Baking, cooking and eating yummy treats- Brewing yummy ales …. so where’s that Fat Yak?
So .. Max is a hippy from the hills who likes drinking beer – responsively -
- Been building websites for 21 years- Started with netscape navigator & wordpad- Worked in govt and for intl enterprise- Ran a “web agency” before they existed- Have run manufacturing & distrib biz- High-level, multi-channel eCommerce

Now ….
Being responsive is NOT just responsive design
- Responsive Marketing- Responsive Personalisation- Responsive Business Development- Responsive & Adaptive UI and Web Design- Responsive Content Management (CMS)
My RWD is in Bootsrap3
I am 50% partner at a Template & extension business specifically for the Joomla CMS
Also partner at start-ups:- marketing SASS & consulting
-website maintenance/services
Our biggest challenge is finding tools & solutions that are easy to use & responsive
To make our Responsive Websites
- We need to use a CMS + Dev Platform > best SME ROI = Joomla
- Reduce, re-use, recycle …. ….. responsive framework in Boostrap3 ….. FOSS extensions & big dev user-base ….. easy re-use and maintenance.
The Good
- Bootstrap3 …. has awesome sauce- Fast dev, with easy customisation & overrides- Classes, with multiple break points- jQuery built in, so easy extensibility- Has many, many contributors- So very stable and new features being added all
the time.- Easy learning - similar to other RWD frameworks
The Bad & The Ugly
- It is what it is … a front-end RWD framework
- Lazy designers pump out generic sites
- Well …… downside of something like BS3 ??
Further Discussions:
- Responsive BS3 WYSIWYG Editor in CMS ??(Concrete5 seemed to have one)to make it easy for end users to create responsive article/content layouts
