There are a multitude of beading threads available - you need to choose the correct thread type and weight.
Woven projects need a "ne strong thread that glides easily through the
beads
Simply strung seed beads
require a strong thread
that will drape softly
Designs with lots of crystal beads or bugles need a thread that will resist cha"ng around the holes of
the beads.
Fancy knotted designs require a thicker, stronger thread which adds a decorative texture.
Knotting ThreadBT349 - BT359
0.6mm in diameter this woven thread makes
smooth neat knots - it’s available in eleven
colours.
Superlon & Nymo Beading ThreadsThese are the most easily available "ne beading threads for bead weaving.
They are both strong, slightly waxed and have a !attened pro"le to "t through a beading needle easily.
They are available in several thicknesses - D is the most useful for Delicas and seed beads sizes 6/0 to 11/0. Use the thinner Superlon AA for smaller seed beads
and more complex weaves. These threads are also suitable for straight-stringing larger beads (up to 5-6mm
in diameter) but use the thread double for extra strength.
Similar premium threads are also available - Miyuki Beading Thread (BT801-818) & KO Brand are just two of the names you may come across.
See the Threading With Thong download for
information on thicker threads than these.
