Summary
1. All technologies needed are available:
biogas generation & biogas upgrading & CNG cars/fueling stations
2. Without subsidy scheme typical biomethane projects in EU are not yet attractive with given
natural gas prices
3. Reference projects mainly outside EU demonstrate that “waste to fuel” is one sustainable and
commercially attractive path for the utilization of Biomethane
4. Bio-CNG as fuel is the option for combustion engine based mobility to compete against electro
mobility and fuel cell based mobility
