Weextendawarm“Welcome”tofamilies&facultywhoarenewtoBethelandahearty“WelcomeBack”toallofourreturningfamiliesandstaff!WearethrilledtohaveyouaspartofourPTO!We’vebeenworkinghardoverSummerBreakpreparingforthe2016-2017schoolyearandareexcitedtokickofftheyear!Assuch,wehavedistributedaWelcomePacket,whichincludesaplethoraofinformationtogetyoueducatedonourpurpose,programsandplans.Wehopeyoufindthesepieceshelpful.Note:AllofthesedocumentscanbefoundonthePTO’swebpageviaBethel’swebsite.WithschoolbudgetsfeelingthesqueezeeventighterthisyearandBethel’sever-increasingheadcount,weareonceagainfocusingoureffortsonraisingthefundsneededtoensureBethel’steachersandstudentshavetheresourcestheyneed.“Resources”isanall-encompassingtermusedforeducationalitemsusedbyteachersintheirclassrooms. Examples:softwaresuchasAcceleratedReader;books forreadingcenters;classroomarearugs;andtestingprivacyshields,butnot“schoolsupplies”likepencilsandgluesticks,whichparentsprovide. As last year’s Fun Run Fundraiser was so wonderfully successful, we are once again partnering withBoosterthonforthisyear’smajorfundraisingeventscheduledforFriday,September23.Ourfundraisinggoalis$20K.ParentsnewtoBoosterthon’sprogramwillfindthatit isacomprehensivecharacter-basedprogramthatprovidesourstudentswithafun,educationalprogramandawesomeprize incentives. FunRunpacketswillgohomethesecondweekofSeptember.Regardingotheravenuesofincomegeneration,familieshavetheopportunitytobeBethelBoostersandhavetheir companies support their givingwithCorporate Matching Gifts; participate in Rewards Programs andSpiritNights, includingmonthlyDomino’sPizzaDays(2ndTuesdayofeachmonth);andpurchaseSpiritWear.(Seerelatedflyers,BoxTopsCollectionsheet&sponsorshipformsintheWelcomePacketoronourwebpage.)We are extremely excited about the Cafeteria Mural Project wherein parent/artist/designer Dina LoweryVachowilltransformourwhitecafeteriawallsintoavisualwonderlandusingimagesfromDr.Seuss!Familiescanbringthisprojecttolifebybecomingsponsorsforaslittleas$25.Pleaseseethe“CafeteriaMuralProject”sponsorship form in the Welcome Packet or go to webpage for more information!
