Human Impact The Florida everglades is one of the ecosystems

most affected by humans.Since around 1900 people have been draining the

wetlands for agricultural purposes. The “Central and South Florida Projects” were

operations which had canals built to do the draining of the water, into the ocean.

The draining caused many native plants to die and promoted the growth of algae.
