Boutique: 3 Ways to Build Loyal Customers
3 WAYS TO BUILDLOYAL CUSTOMERS
BOUTIQUE
BE PERSONABLE
By collecting customer information and other details
right at the POS, you have the information needed to
make your customer feel special.
When asking for this information, be transparent! Tell
the shopper why you are collecting their information
and how you plan to use it.
Add additional notes that will help you to connect
with them next time they visit the store. For example,
if you knew Kathy was looking for a dress for a friend’s
birthday party, ask her how the party was and how the
dress worked out!
BE REAL
Make sure your sales pitch sounds genuine and not
scripted. Start with a friendly greeting or compliment
and then ask if they’ve been in before.
Be sure to alert shoppers of your current promotions
and deals, but don’t be overbearing. Some shoppers
prefer to be left alone and just look around.
The less sincere you are, the more likely you are to turn
customers away. Instead, use your first interaction with
them as an opportunity to build a genuine relationship.
GO THE EXTRA MILE
By exemplifying outstanding customer service, you will
have more loyal customers. Exceed your customer’s
expectations and go out of your way to make them happy.
Be sure to remember the customer is always right. You
want to do everything in your power to offer a positive
and memorable experience.
Maybe that means offering to carry their purchase to
their car or giving them gift cards when your store
makes a mistake.
