BridgeInfo3

The BridgeInfo3 is the application provided (by State Aid and Bridge of MnDOT) to assist local State Aid agencies by displaying bridge information on an internet based map. End users will be able to see the bridges scour codes, postings, deficiency status, rail rating, ADT or the NBI Bridge Deck Rating displayed on the map. They can also view bridge reports such as Hydraulic, Inspection, Inventory and go to a website that has other bridge reports provided by the Bridge Office.

Data for this map will be refreshed at end of work week.

Zoom and Default view

• At default view, no bridges will be on map • You can zoom in or out by using above “+” , “-“ or scroll wheel on mouse • 3 zoom levels in, bridges will be drawn on map • Click and hold will allow you to “pan” around the map

• Lower right has Mile Scale and UTM value of your mouse on map • Data for this map will be refreshed at end of work week.

Find

• To find a bridge

• Click on “Bridge Number” to zoom map to that bridge • Click on “Bridge details and reports” to get more detail info (see section in this document)

Bridge Details and Reports

This window provides detail info for a specific bridge and ability to run reports on that bridge. Also has link to the “All Bridge Reports” webpage. You can get to this window from:

• Find (on tool bar) • Identify (on tool bar)

For reports, Hydraulic, Inspection and Inventory will generate a new window with report in a pdf format (user must have at least Adobe Acrobat Reader).

Data for this map will be refreshed at end of work week.

Reset

This will completely reset your session in BridgeInfo3 . Everything (like Zoom, Layers, Query and etc) will be set back to default settings.

Layers

This will allow you to choose different data layer to map bridges by. Also you can add “Aerial Photo” and change transparency levels of map layers.

• Tip-Only have 1 “Bridge Layer” activated at a time • Map symbology (color of bridge symbol) will be different according to value for that layer • Data for this map will be refreshed at end of work week.

Use this to move to specific area of map.

Clear

Clear off “Identify” flag.

Identify

Use to mark a bridge and bring up new window with “Bridge Details and Reports”.

• Only works on Bridge symbology • Use “Clear” (from toolbar) to remove flag

Tools/Query

Query allows one to do some analytics on the underlying data of BridgeInfo3.

• It is best to always use “All Bridges” layer • Using pull down menus, fill in other fields • Use “Add to Query” to complete • Using parenthesis and operators on bottom to build

a complete query • “Query Full Extent” button will execute the “Query

Expression” • A new window will be created with results

o This window will contain all data for the record (scroll right or maximize window)

o Use scroll bars (both sides) to see more o Use “>>” button to advance next page of

results o “Show” button will “Zoom” to the bridge on

the map o “Export to CSV” will allow you to have the

results in a format you can use with Excel
