Opus A-E I joined OAE in 2000 as a project architect primarily
working in the Opus South region. My main tasks were to produce
D.Dev./C.Doc./Const. Support for multiple two-four story commercial
office developments located in Florida, Georgia, and North
Carolina. Tenant build-out to suit followed the shell packages. The
client was typically Opus South Construction Corp. project
management group. Some of the more significant tasks included
Building code coordination, bid package prep, and design
confirmations along with shop drawing review. Usually supervised 1
technical support staff directly. In 2001 I was appointed to Senior
Project Architect and joined the design, programming, and
documentation process for the Best Buy World Headquarters,
Richfield, MN. My role was to lead an architectural team producing
design and construction documentation of the four office towers and
overall site. Provided D.Dev./C.Doc./Const. Support. Tenant build
to suit was designed by Perkins-Will (Lisa Pool, principal contact)
and OAE provided the construction documentation and support. The
client was Opus Northwest Const. and personal interaction with BBuy
executive teams. Significant tasks included visioning and design
support, building code review and implementations, bid package
prep, and significant construction support. Supervised 5 technical
support staff directly. Final as-built drawings submitted 2003. A
significant market shift for most Opus developers was to re-include
market rate multi-family housing into their portfolios. In 2004
Carlyle Condominiums (originally named Bridge Place) started the
design and entitlement process thru the city of Minneapolis.
Working with Humphries Partners-Dallas (Walter Hughes, partner) I
led a team taking over both design control and production
documentation of the project to regionalize and solidify it
architecturally. The client(s) were Opus Northwest and Apex Asset
Mgt. (Bob Lux, Alatus). BBGM-NY and Studio Hive (Shawn Gaither,
partner) were the interior designer of public spaces. Significant
tasks included entitlement, marketing support, building code
implementation, unit design, and significant construction support.
Supervised 4 technical support staff directly. Final as-built
drawings submitted 2007. I was promoted to Architectural
Coordinator in 2005 during the duration of this project. The Opus
East office in Philadelphia, PA provided the next high-rise mixed
use opportunity for me. Located in center city, the 1919 Market
Street project began design process in 2007. Designed in
conjunction with the Washington, DC office of Opus East.
Significant tasks included entitlement, faade development, unit and
retail component development, and bid package prep. Supervised 3
technical support staff directly and worked very closely with Opus
East construction management as this would be their first high-rise
and multi- family project in center city Philadelphia. Project
obtained building permit but was put on hold pending funding and
development partnership revisions. Auto-Cad ADT 2006 proficient;
Revit 2009 trained; Microsoft Office suite While at Opus I have
developed good working relationships with assigned construction
managers, design staff, and clients. I feel I have facilitated
effective, efficient project leadership and provided an overall
positive candor regardless of assignment. Please feel free to
contact me to schedule a confidential interview or with any further
requests. Brian F. Pederson, AIA - Personal Contact Information
