GOD CALLS US TO WORSHIP

Prelude: Hyferdol .................................................................................... arr. Varner

*Opening Song: Come, People of the Risen King ................................. see screen

*Call to Worship:

Come, all you whose souls thirst for the living God.

We come in search of help and hope.

Come, you who are acquainted with grief or oppression.

We come bearing our doubts, our wounds, and our fears.

Come, you who are in need of good news.

We come in search of joy, truth, and light.

Come and find refuge in God your rock.

Let us again praise the one who is our help and our hope.

-inspired by Psalm 42 & 43

Prayer of Confession:

O God, you have embraced us in your arms. Have mercy on us,

according to your unfailing love.

Wash away all our iniquities and cleanse us from our sins.

Against you, you only, have we sinned,

and done what is evil in your sight.

Cleanse us with hyssop, and we will be clean;

wash us, and we will be whiter than snow.

Create in us pure hearts, O God,

and renew steadfast spirits within us.

Do not cast us from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from us.

Restore to us the joy of your salvation

and grant us willing spirits, to sustain us.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;

a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. -Psalm 51: 1, 2, 4, 7, 10-12, 17

Assurance of Pardon:

“I will sprinkle clean water on you,

and you will be clean;

I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols.

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you;

I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful

to keep my laws.” -Ezekiel 36:25-26

Then we will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will turn back to you, O

God, the God who saves us.

O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths will declare your praise. -Psalm 51:13, 15

As the children continue with their worship downstairs,

what is our prayer for them?

That you grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Father’s love.

Children ages 5 years old through 4th grade are invited to meet

at the back of the sanctuary to continue worship in the

Vineyard Room downstairs.

OFFERING TO GOD OUR PRAYERS AND GIFTS

Offering: Mobility Worldwide (West Michigan)

Over 70 million people in the world are leg/feet handicapped in developing

countries. Without help, many crawl in the dirt. Mobility World Wide began

in 1994, and has built about 80,000 hand cranked mobility carts which can

go where ordinary wheelchairs cannot go. The carts have been distributed

in 104 countries, and cost about $300 to build/ship.

The West MI Affiliate is called Mobility Worldwide West Michigan (Holland)

and has shipped over 4,500 small carts in the past 10 years. Production

has been increased to 15 carts/week. Since most recipient countries use

the metric system, metric fasteners are now used. Thank you for your con-

tinued support. MobilityWorldwideWM.org
