Rain and cold weather is coming. And when it does, we will still have recess
outside. Dress your scholars in weather appropriate clothing for the outdoors.
If possible, pack extra clothes in your student’s backpack. We do not have a
lot of extra clothing in the Health Room.

SEXUAL HEALTH FAMILY PREVIEW NIGHT
In Federal Way Public Schools we believe that informing scholars empowers
them to make healthy choices! Washington state law requires that students in
fifth through twelfth grade learn about HIV transmission and prevention each
year. Parents and guardians have the opportunity to preview the curriculum
used at each grade level, and to opt their child out of these lessons if they
choose. Grade 5-8 parents are invited to HIV and Sexual Health Curriculum
Information Sessions on March 31, 2020. The sessions are located at the
Educational Service Center, 33330 8th Ave. S. Federal Way, room 104 from
6:30–7:30 p.m.

Hello Camelot Families,
This is a great time of year at Camelot. There is so much excitement in the student's eyes. Maybe it is knowing that there will soon be two weeks off? Perhaps it is the season of giving? Perhaps the hope of snow? As we get into the colder season, remember to send your students to school prepared for the weather, whatever it takes to keep them warm and dry as each day we do go outside.
• We recommend that students arrive at school no earlier than 8:15 for supervision purposes.
• Children should arrive at school dressed for the weather of the day so they can safely and comfortably enjoy recesses.
• Students will remain inside in extreme weather conditions such as very cold temperatures, heavy rain, unhealthy air conditions.
• Please be considerate and safety conscious as you drop off and pick up students at school. The winter months see an increase in the number of cars. Remember to follow the queue of cars waiting. We pick up by the flag poll. Please do not park in the bus loading area.
In the event of a significant weather event, the district will communicate with families using phone numbers and emails that are updated in ParentVue. Pay attention to our local news stations as well.
Lastly, I will leave you with a celebration. In the 2018-2019 school year, Camelot achieved higher than schools with similar demographics in both ELA and math. We will be receiving the Setting the Pace Award at a school board meeting this month. Thank you for sending your scholars to school every day ready to learn. Your partnership is critical.
All the best,
