THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE
BY: Cameron Haroldsen
The Bermuda Triangle is located from 25
degrees 45'N., 80 degrees 15' W. Miami
Florida 18 degrees 29'N 66 degrees 48' W.
Puerto Rico 32 degrees 18'N 64 degrees 48'
W. Bermuda in the Atlantic Ocean.
There are lots of theories in the world
about the Bermuda Triangle. Some are
pretty well explained, some are crazy.
one of the first theories of the bermuda
triangle is the great city of Atlantis, which
sank beneath the sea thousands of years
ago. Some people think it is under the island
of Bermuda.
Other people think it is powerful energy.
Long ago. men from space dropped a power
supply into the area of the bermuda triangle
waters. Any ships or planes would be
affected by it.
A lot of people think it's the gulf stream.
The gulf stream is a stream of warm water
that goes through the bermuda triangle that
might affect machinery.
The Sargasso Sea is another myth. It is
one of the seas in the Bermuda Triangle that
apparently has no wind.
Aliens, ufo's, are other theories. Its said that
they come through the bermuda triangle and
abduct people. For tests or something, that is
why no one is on the ships when we find
them.
My personal theory is magnetism. It is
said that there is a giant magnet in the
ground making the compasses malfunction,
which causes them to get lost or crash!
The first ship and crew to go into the
Bermuda Triangle was the Santa Maria with
the crew of Christopher Columbus, (40
crewmen) with the ships Pinta and Nina
holding 20 and 30 crewmen. He went in the
Bermuda Triangle Sargasso Sea on Sunday
the 23rd of September, 1492.
There were a lot of boats that went
missing in the Bermuda Triangle. "Fishing
boats, military boats, even cruise ships". The
most famous boat or ship that went missing
in the Bermuda Triangle is the USS.
CYCLOPS. A ship built for World War 2
launched May 7th, 1910.
Other famous missing boats are:
1.The Sea Venture
The Sea Venture was actually very famous
back in its time. It was the first boat that
brought settlers to the island Bermuda.
2. The Cristobal Colon.
The Cristobal Colon was famous for being one of the most
largest boats that sank in bermuda waters. It was 499 feet long
and three decks high, it could held 344 passengers when it sunk.
3. (And final boat) The
constellation
The Constellation sunk on july 30th, 1943. It was
sold to the directer of jaws and was in the movie.
There are so much missing planes just
like boats. The most famous missing flight is
flight 19. A group of 5 navy torpedo bombers
going on a practice mission. The famous
flight 19 was launched on december 5th 1945
from fort lauderdale. At the time of 2:10 PM
eastern standard time which was 12:10.
missing planes
There are a few ghost ships too
some are:
1. The Mary Celeste
The Mary Celeste is one of the most famous ghosts
ships of them all.For one month the Mary Celeste was
missing – merchants in Italy awaited their shipment of
commercial alcohol. On December 5, 1872 the ship was
found in near-perfect condition, drifting on the waves of
the Strait of Gibraltar. All contents of the ship were on
board, including the cargo and the personal belongings
of the passengers. Everything remained intact, except,
very strangely, no passenger – dead or alive. Last
sighting: November 5th 1872.
2. The DEERING
The Deering never reached Norfolk. Instead it was found off Cape Hatteras,
North Carolina completely abandoned – no crew, no lifeboats. Some
suggest possible causes such as mutiny, piracy, hurricanes, or rum runners.
However, the United States government felt uncomfortable that several
ships, from many nations, had disappeared or were found wrecked in this
area – the Bermuda Triangle. These occurrences were too suspicious and
frequent to be explained away by traditional causes. The government thus
launched five separate investigations under different departments, but
whatever they found that may have illuminated some paranormal activity
was hidden from the public.
3. The VALENCIA
As the crew members of the Valencia struggled
to escape the sinking ship, they hastily
deployed six lifeboats. In the chaos, they
frantically lowered three full of men, but on
the way down, each tipped, causing all the
men to plunge into the water. Three of the
lifeboats were successfully set onto the
water, but two subsequently capsized, and
one was never seen again.
so what do you think? atlantis, a powerful
energy, the gulf stream, the Sargasso Sea,
Aliens, or the magnetism? Or something
much worse? Something much more
mysterious?
