The organization is the largest independent Fire District in the State of Florida, providing emergency response and life safety services to the Chokoloskee, Everglades City, Golden Gate, East Naples, Isles of Capri, Port of the Islands, and surrounding communities. The Fire District is governed by a Board of five elected Fire Commissioners, and proudly staffs 225 uniform firefighters and civilian support staff. The Fire District deploys emergency apparatus from 15 fire-rescue stations. In addition, the Fire District manages a variety of support operations from six additional facilities including Administration, Fire & Life Safety, Training and Special Operations, Logistics, and Fleet Maintenance.
Our fire service professionals provide services to more than 160,000 residents living and working within the District’s 1,512 square miles. In 2019, our fire service professionals responded to 22,627 emergency incidents and conducted 11,551 life safety inspections within the Greater Naples Fire Rescue District and Collier County at-large.

FIRE INSPECTOR
Job Summary Fire Inspector I- Civilian is responsible for maintaining effective and cooperative working re-
lationships with District personnel and business/community members and complying with all
applicable laws and standards, safety practices, and policies and procedures adopted by the
Fire District. The Fire Inspector is responsible for performing fire & life safety inspections,
public education and other duties as assigned.
The Fire Inspector II- FF is responsible for maintaining effective and cooperative working
relationships with co-workers and the business/community members and complying with all
applicable laws and standards, safety practices, and policies and procedures adopted by the
Fire District. The Fire Inspector II- FF is responsible for performing fire & life safety
inspections, origin and cause investigations, public education and other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Applications are being accepted for both Civilian (Inspector I) and FF Certified Inspector/Investigator
positions (Inspector II).
High school graduate or the equivalent
Current State of Florida Fire Inspector certificate
Current State of Florida issued Certificate of Compliance/Firefighter II certification (If applicable)
Current State of Florida issued Fire Investigator I Certification (Inspector II, if applicable)
Current Healthcare Provider CPR card
Valid Florida Driver’s License
Be a non-smoker/non-user of tobacco for at least one (1) year prior to application, signed affidavit.
To claim Veteran’s Preference, a copy of your DD214 must be submitted at time of application.
** All certificates/Licenses must be submitted with application.

To claim Veteran’s Preference, a copy of your DD214 (long form) – Member 4 copy – and the applicable VP form 1, 2 or 3 must be submitted at the time of application. Additional requirements if selected for an interview may include: an oral interview, a computer proficiency test, a background check, submitting a Driver’s License record, and/or passing a pre-employment physical
