From the Principal
Siena Primary School has been a rapidly growing school since our 2002 foundation year.This growth has allowed us to not only grow in size but also in community and thelearning opportunities provided. The challenges of maintaining our authentic Catholicidentity and catering for the rapid growth of the area has allowed Siena Primary to weaveChristian qualities and values into a meaningful learning environment. Each year we haveset out to address the needs of a growing school plus incorporate the intentions of thenine priorities of Brisbane Catholic Education’s Strategic Renewal Framework into ourschool renewal plan.
Renewal is a process that improves what exists. It is also provides accountability ofschool actions for their community, their organisation and government. This report detailsthe goals and achievements of 2007. As you read this report you will see we are calledto:
• Teach and promote the Catholic faith through the gospel message we gleanfrom the bible;
• Challenge the ideals of a rapidly changing world to always be mindful ofothers in a supportive and caring school community, and
• Transform the world into a better place by releasing the gifts and potential ofeach person in sharing the responsibilities to learn and grow from theopportunities provided.
In accommodating the challenges of catering for the ongoing increase in numbersteachers have been able to maintain sound daily operational procedures to ensure highquality teaching and learning is maintained. Their contributions and energy have ensuredthat children remain the central focus exit for here at Siena.
Parents have been regular supporters of themany facets of school life. They have a dailypresence in the school contributing to the manyactivities that fill children’s school day. Thisadds to the richness of who we are and what weare here for.
In reading this report we can be affirmed withwhat has transpired in 2007. It also provides uswith encouragement and insight into furtheringthe opportunities of the future.
Let us keep the desire for Prayer, Care andLearning alive and active within our every daylife.
