CENTRAL BUDGET REQUEST ENTRY
1) Go to: Other Applications > Centrals>Financials>Budget Command Center

2) Click on Central Budget Entry
MUNIS will automatically take you to the Central Budget Entry Screen
3) If the Projection number shown at top of screen is not the projection number the Budget Office
has told you to use, click on Change Projection
4) Choose correct projection number from the drop down box and click ok (note: you will be using
a separate projection number for enhancement requests and the capital projects fund)

5) Click on the Attach Paperclip and choose Projection to view all documents and forms related to
the budget.
6) Choose Budget Projection Attachment. Open budget information file and budget forms file and
save to your computer.

7) Choose file(s) to open and save to your computer. (These files will include budget calendar,
rates and any applicable forms)
8) Click on Advanced if you need to find a certain set of accounts. You can choose
from the below criteria and click ok. (Note: Operating Budget will load by default)

9) Click on Account Columns to choose what columns you would like to see on your screen.
10) Your Central Budget Entry Screen should now look similar to this:

11) To add the requested amount and detail, click the Add Detail icon to the left of the
account. The account detail screen will appear.
The screen will be presented with a listing of accounts to the left with the account selected from
the previous screen highlighted in blue. To the right of the account will be the detail records
summarized once entered. (Salary and benefits will be populated once Finance completes the
salary/benefit projection)
12) Click the Add Detail Icon from the ribbon to add a detail record for the account highlighted. The
following pop‐up will appear.

13) Click Add Detail under Operating/Capital. The Budget Detail Screen will appear.
14) At a minimum you will enter the Quantity, Unit Cost, Description, Justification and Classification.
(If the vendor, inventory item or asset number is known please enter)
15) Check One‐Time Expenditure or Revenue if the item(s) being requested is a one‐time expense or
revenue projected to receive is a one‐time revenue source.
16) Check Priority Item only if an item(s) needs to be considered immediately.
17) Click Save and Close in the lower right 18) Click add detail again if you need to add more items to the account or click on another account
number and follow the same steps. (11‐16)
Note: to update a record click on the view detail icon to the right of the record or to
delete a record click on Delete Detail Icon in the ribbon
19) To return to the main Central Budget Screen from the Detail Entry Screen, choose the return
icon from the ribbon then click on Save Changes in bottom right corner.
20) If want to add additional notes to a line item click on the Pencil Icon

21) Icon changes to to let viewer know notes have been added to an account.
ATTACHMENTS
22) To attach items to an account click on the account you would like to attach the item to. (You will use this to attach any forms or other required documents)
23) Click the Attach paperclip icon > choose Account

24) Click on the blue hyperlink Budget Account Attachment and attach document(s) through TCM and save. Make sure you clearly label your attachment under Description before you save in TCM.

25) To attach an item to the projection (such as Goals & Objectives and Workload Indicators/Performance Measurers) click on the Attach paperclip icon>choose Projection.
26) Click on the blue hyperlink Budget Projection Attachment and attach document(s) through TCM and save. Make sure you clearly label your attachment under Description before you save in TCM.

EXPORTING TO EXCEL
Microsoft Office integration with Excel and Outlook makes proofing data and sharing information
easier than ever.
27) Click to export the budget projection into Microsoft Excel. The data will open in a preformatted and tabulated workbook as seen below.
One tab will display projection account totals and the other displays the Projection Account Details.

28) When request is complete and any documentation attached click Save Changes and click on Department Notify.
29) Choose your department number and click ok. This will notify your Assistant Administrator that you are ready for their review.
BUDGET REPORTS
30) Click on Budget Reports 31) Click Define and then choose Projections Number>click accept twice so Segment Find lights up 32) Click Segment Find>Accept>Choose Segments you want to view

33) Click on Report Options and choose the type of report you want to run.
34) Choose the Budget Level, Sequences and Additional options for running your report and click
Return.
Note: Print text means any notes you put on your request will print.
35) Run report as PDF or to Excel.
