Shop Priming Shortcomings
– Possible Peened Surface
– Contamination of shop primer prior to field coating application (fluid spills, tobacco, etc)
– Potential chalking and hardening of prime coat due to UV and/or heat exposure
– Potential for solvent entrapment in prime coat
– Damage done to primer during transportation and construction
