CERTIFIED CONSTRUCTION SITE SUPERVISOR
(CSS) PROGRAM
1. INTRODUCTION
According to Lembaga Pembangunan Industri Pembinaan Malaysia1994 (Act 520), Section 2(1) the definitions certification andaccreditation is stipulated as:
“certification” means a procedure by which the Lembaga (Board) orany person authorised by it gives written assurance that a process,practice or service conforms with specified requirements
“accreditation” means a procedure by which the Lembaga (Board)or any personal authorised by it gives formal recognition that a bodyor person is competent to carry out a specific task relating to theconstruction industry
At the same time, no worker can be engaged in the constructionwithout accreditation or registration as construction personnel. CIDBis responsible for the accreditation of construction personnel. Underthe Act 520, Section 33A (1) specified that:

“No construction site supervisor or skilled construction worker shall beinvolved or engaged, or undertake to be involved or engaged as aconstruction site supervisor or skilled construction worker unless he isaccredited and certified by the Lembaga (Board) and holds a validcertificate issued by the Lembaga (Board) under this Act.”
2. PROGRAM OUTCOME:
Upon successful completion of the course, participants should be able to:
a) Site Supervisor who is knowledgeable, competent to facilitate and fulfilthe supervisory works efficiently in meeting the cost, time and qualityexpected from the project
b) Site Supervisor who upholds the importance of safety culture in theworkplace and ensuring a quality deliverables from his services.
c) Site Supervisor who is able to work independently yet effectively inmulti-disciplinary team for construction industry excellence.
d) Site Supervisor who is reliable, helpful and able to communicateeffectively and contribute his skills for efficient project management.
e) Site Supervisor who applies the ethical responsibility towards society,environment and embrace the important of sustainable development in hisprofession.
