A.K.A. Qoricancha, it was one of the sacred places of the Incas. When the Spanish conquistadores arrived, they incorporated a big part of the temple to the Church of Santo Domingo.

The vast majority of the dishes made in Cuzco are made with potatoes, the reason is because there is a big variety of them. The other produce is corn.

Tupac Amaru(Died 1572)

The last Inca emperor that was allowed to be a ceremonial figurehead but lost all political power after Francisco Pizarro and the Spanish conquistadors conquered Cuzco.

Tupac Amaru II1742 –1781)

A direct descendant of Tupac Amaru. He led the first rebellion in the New World against the Spanish empire in Peru. His rebellion was unsuccessful because he was betrayed by close advisors. Executed (with family) in 1781.

Tupac Amaru Shakur(1971–1996)

Named after Tupac Amaru II because his mother hoped he would be a leader that resisted the forces of oppression, i.e. the government, corrupt police and etc.
