The tradition of serenading goes back hundreds of years to the Middle Ages. Lovestruck young men would sneak beneath their lover’s window at night to sing to them. Sometimes they would wear masks to hide their identities from passers-by or protective fathers. And occasionally they would go so far as to urge their intended audience to sneak out of the house to join them.
Masks are back in fashion for the moment, and we dearly hope our own little serenade will convince you to wear yours and sneak out of the house at the end of September.

Music is wonderful in all its forms, but music inspired by dramatic scenes and landscapes is consistently some of the most evocative. Many composers have been inspired to some of their best works by the supernatural and the spooky. So join us for an evening of lighthearted terror! Masks are required, but costumes are optional.
