CHAPEL RESPONSIBILITIES The ministries of Harbison Chapel are designed to
support the efforts of Grove City students as they live out the Great Commission and explore their unique calling as Christians. Through chapel services, Harbison Chapel seeks to develop a Christ-centered living and learning community that will encourage students as they grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus Christ. It is our prayer that through rich teaching, personal testimonies, and corporate worship Grove City College students would grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
In order for the chapel ministries to have an influence on the discipleship and growth of all students, students are required to attend the following chapel services:
1. Full-time students (12 or more credits): 16 chapels.
2. Students enrolled at least half-time but less than full time (six to 11 credits): eight chapels.
3. Students enrolled less than half time (five or fewer credits): not required to attend.*
Enrollment status will be determined for each student at the conclusion of the College’s course drop/add week. Withdrawing from courses after that date will not affect the number of chapels owed during a semester. A student enrolled as an undergraduate beyond the four-year degree period must attend chapel within the requirements listed above. Semester requirements not fulfilled must be made up.
A student who owes 10 or more unfulfilled chapel requirements on or after his/her class’s registration date will not be permitted to register for the next semester or obtain transcripts until such time that the requirement is met. Transcripts will be held for students who withdraw from the College with 10 or more unfulfilled chapels. Any student who has not fulfilled the chapel attendance requirement by his/her graduation date will not be certified as a graduate until the requirement has been satisfied. Students owing more than six chapel requirements will not be permitted to participate in the College’s Commencement ceremony.
