To undertake project work with an emphasis on process improvement and to provide proactive financial and commercial advice and support to all areas of Council.

• Undertake project work as required with an emphasis on process improvement and utilising Councils IT systems fully.
• Support the finance team, senior management, Council’s business units and committees by providing proactive financial and commercial advice.
• Produce timely and accurate management information reports as required.
• Assist in the development of annual plans and budgets and ensure performance against budgets is continually monitored and reviewed.
• Assist in the preparation of the end of year financial reports.
• Ongoing review of Council’s financial systems, practices and policies, recommending and implementing change where necessary.
• Actively promote Finance services and be part of ensuring Finance is a key business partner in all aspects of Council by maintaining a current understanding of Council’s business processes and procedures in all areas of Council.
• Ensure the appropriate systems and processes are documented fully and appropriate reporting needs met and tested.
• Undertake training of staff as required on Councils financial systems and processes.
• Undertake other activities, duties or projects (including “internal projects”) as directed by your
Manager/Group Manager in an efficient and effective manner.
• Attend and participate in Emergency Operations training (CIMS) and contingency planning to prepare
for an emergency management event and actively participating in training exercises.
• Assist Council, as required, in managing a civil defence event, having due regard to the safety of your
family
• Responsible for the safe management of Group activities and to support and enable the CEO and the
Council as a PCBU to fulfil their duties under the law.
• Champion, comply and promote the Council’s health and safety systems, policies and procedures,
current legislation, regulations and good practice ensuring you keep yourself, our Council and others
safe.
