•A 35 minutes test (listening + reading)
•A designed vocabulary (about 80 words)
•A certificate for Y7/8/9 (under 15) pupils who study Chinese
•An easy and well established test with less documents to fill in for teachers and pupils

HOW TO START YCT
STEP 1: ESTIMATE THE POSSIBILITIES
1. Buy / download YCT previous test papers / text books to be familiar with this exam
2. Plan teaching content in basic 5 topics (YCT level1)
3. Create worksheets / quizlet / kahoot / memrise
4. Plan / set a test time (pupils need time to use to the exam paper)

1. Contact school exam office and book rooms /
time / invigilators
2. Contact Deputy head to allocate pupils and
change their timetable to adjust the exam

STEP 3: CONTACT SCHOOL EXAM OFFICE

ON THE EXAM DAY:
1. A seating plan and candidate cards are ready and inform pupils one week before the test.
2. Prepare extra HB pencils/pencil sharpener/rubber/forms/
3. Check recorder and CDs
4. Put the seating plan outside the entrance
5. Put candidate cards on each allocated table.
YCT RESULT:
1. Pass: 60% or 120 out of 200 marks
2. Normally the school will get the result in 3 weeks
time from Hanban with posted certificates
