Leadership, Management Style, and Teambuilding“If everyone isn’t committed to the success of their teammates individually and collectively, then you
don’t have a real team” (Carley, 1996, p. 41).
Factions are common since organizations are mirrors of our society and are, therefore , dysfunctional (Kofman and Senge, 1993).
Three problems that emerge from society into our organizations: fragmentation, competition, and reactiveness (Kofman and Senge, 1993).
Leadership, Management Style, and Teambuilding
Teambuilding Decrease fragmentation/
competition and replace withsupportive relationships.
Open lines of communication.Working together for common
goals.Recognizing the viewpoints and resources of everyone.
GOAL = Teambuilding becomes WTC standard operating procedure from top administration through the ranks.

New Organizational Structure: Short Term SolutionsAppoint local advisory board
The primary functions of the board are to offer advice and perspective on education issues; to provide a link between the college and business, government; and to serve as an advocate for the college in promoting academic programs and recruiting activities. The board will consist of alumni and prominent business people from the area.
Place more emphasis on academic side of IT This can be accomplished by allowing the librarian
and Faculty Senate to work with the IT staff to ensure that students and faculty needs are met.
