Friday, March 2nd: Alan Ames Mass, Talk, and Healing We are very excited to announce that Alan Ames will be visit-
ing Glen Cove. Alan Ames has the support of many bishops
and priests. He has the gift of healing and other gifts from the
Holy Spirit. Here is a brief bit about him from his website,
www.alanames.org: "Alan Ames was born in London in 1953.
In his youth, he was a member of a motorcycle-gang, he went
along a path full of violence and alcohol. After his marriage, he
moved to Australia with his family. The turning point of his life
happened in 1993 when Alan saw his past life displayed before
him and experienced how his sins and wrong ways had hurt
God. He saw how Jesus offered him forgiveness from the cross.
After some struggles, Alan accepted the forgiveness offered by
Jesus. The Lord helped Alan to come back to the sacraments
and to the Church and changed Alan's hatred and pain into
love. Later, God called Alan to be one of His witnesses, sent to
carry God's love into the world. Alan has brought hope and
blessing to hundreds of thousands of people – the hope and
blessing which he himself draws from his sacramental relation-
ship of love with the Trinitarian God." The event will take
place at 7:00 PM at Saint Patrick Church.

PARISH ACTIVITIES Parish Membership: All families are required to register in the Parish. Forms may be obtained at the Parish Office. Kindly notify the Parish Office if you move to another parish or change your address.
Rosary Society: The Rosary Society of the Church of St. Rocco currently has ~200 ladies that are members. Our motto is Unity, Charity and Humility. We aim to honor our Lord through devotion, praise, reverence and filial love for the Blessed Virgin Mary. We meet on the last Monday evening of every month at 7:30PM in the Madonna Room to recite the Rosary together (in English & Italian) and to discuss and plan spiritual and social church events as well as fund-raising efforts. There is often a guest speaker and at the end of the meeting we enjoy each other’s company over coffee and cake. We celebrate Mass together the first Sunday of the month at the 7:30AM Mass, followed by the parish breakfast when available. Please contact us at [email protected] if you would like to become a member!
Holy Name Society: The Holy Name Society is a confraternity open to all adults in which we aim to assist each other to grow in holiness. The Saint Rocco's Holy Name Society is always looking for a few good men! We meet on Friday at 7:30PM and celebrate Mass together on the second Sunday of the month at the 7:30AM Mass. Please consider joining us. If you are interested, please contact the church office and leave your name and someone will return your call. Thank You.
Glen Cove Young Adults: Our new group of young adults meets every-other Monday evening for an event we call Distilled Theology. We meet at a local pub to discuss topics of interest and to learn how to address these issues with the Truth. For the past few months, we’ve discussed topics such as the Church and State, Karma, Contemplative Prayer, the Virtues, and Sexual Ethics. We are fortunate to have one of our priests lead each talk. We have young adults come from all over the island for these events, and the fellowship is as important as the discussion! For more information, please email Kelsey: [email protected].
Saint Padre Pio Prayer Group: Meets in the church the second Monday of the Month (except during summer) for prayers at 7:00PM and a Mass at 7:30PM.
St. Rocco’s Children’s Choir: Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30PM in the parish center. We sing at the 10:15AM Mass twice a month. Children ages 7-14 are welcome to join! No musical experience necessary—just bring your voice and your smile for a fun and fruitful rehearsal! Try out one rehearsal to see what it is like, or contact Theresa Bissex, the choir director, at [email protected].
