Whenever you are unable to cover your Holy Hour, for whatever reason, we are always able to get a sub. "Consider your allotted hour of adoration as an hour of paradise ...Sweetly keep alive the desire for it in your heart. Tell yourself: in four hours, in two hours, in one hour, I will go to our Lord's audience of grace and love; he invited me, he awaits me, he desires me." (St. Peter Julian Eymard)
OPEN HOLY HOURS SUNDAY - 4 am; TUESDAY – 4 am;
SATURDAY – 1 pm, 9 pm The celebration of Mass is one of the most solemn celebrations of our faith. A collision of Heaven and Earth! It is the leaving of our mortal world and entering into that which is of Christ. Catholics worship God in a variety of ways, but the chief act of corporate or communal worship is the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Because of this, there is a proper etiquette that one should follow when in God's house to offer worship to him. From time to time,
we will give reminders so that you can enjoy a more Holy encounter with our God: Bless yourself with Holy Water on entering and leaving the Church. This is a reminder of our Baptism, which made us members of Christ’s Church. Try to
remain mindful of what is happening when you do so, and don’t do it without saying a prayer.
Cleaning at Mary, Queen of Peace Church in preparation for the Mass of the Assumption (August 15th) will be on MONDAY, AUGUST 7th, at 8:30 am. Help is needed!

This weekend, July 29-30, we will have the annual Missionary Cooperative Appeal. Deacon Marco Rajkovich will be visiting our Parish from the Catholic Diocese of Lexington Kentucky to raise support for mission work within his Diocese. Throughout the Diocese of Lexington, and especially in Appalachia, many women and men work with those in financial or spiritual poverty, bringing the Gospel to life and caring for those in need. A second collection will be taken up to support the mission activities there. Please be generous in your support of this important work.

From Scripture: Matthew 13:44-52, Hidden treasure. In this Gospel reading, Jesus compared several scenarios of extraordinary good fortune to the experience of discovering the Kingdom of God. In the first scenario,
a man discovers a treasure buried in a field. Jesus’ audience knew uncovering such a treasure would change their lives. Just so, discovering the hidden treasure of the Kingdom can give new meaning to our lives, too. In the second scenario, a merchant finds a valuable pearl. In the barter-based economy of ancient Israel, a merchant’s fortune depended upon the quality and desirability of what he had to sell. A valuable pearl was well worth the painstaking search to find it. To those hungry and searching for God, Jesus assured them they would find the answers they sought in the Kingdom. Finally, Jesus compared the separation between the evil and righteous to the sifting that happens when a large catch is brought ashore. Similarly, when we put our whole life in service to our love for God, then the individual pieces fall into place around that love. Whatever is contrary to this love falls away.
HEY VOLUNTEERS!! HEY BUSINESSES!! We know that our volunteers freely offer themselves without any financial compensation. They literally sacrifice for the betterment of others, and we are very grateful to them. We would like to do something nice for them! A little perk! Beginning in August, we will have a volunteer box in the back of Church. Anyone who volunteers to do anything for the Parish is welcome to put their name in the box (once per month). On the first day of each month, we will draw a name. That volunteer will win a prize! LOOK for the BOX starting next weekend! Businesses…here is how you can help us out!! We are asking our businesses (one business per month) to sponsor the prize for the volunteer. It could be a gift card to a restaurant, department or grocery store. It could be a gift card to a hamburger/hotdog or ice cream joint. It could be a fruit or gift basket. It could be something creative! The choice and the amount are yours. For that entire month, your business will be highlighted right inside our bulletin. Please call the Parish Office if you would like to volunteer to treat a volunteer!!

The Chance tickets were given to each household recently. Many thanks to those of you who have already returned your sold tickets!! If you did not receive your packet, or if you can sell even more, please stop by the Parish Office. The profit on our chances is very good, but it can be even better, if everyone sells all of their tickets!
Here are some things we need to start to gather. Please drop off your items at the Parish Office during the day, or at the Parish Center on Wednesday nights from 5:30-6:30 pm.
Small and Large Prices for the Luck of the Irish Stand Hundreds of items are needed to keep the crowd playing! All BRAND NEW/UNUSED/UNOPENED items should have a value of at least $5. Examples: perfume, jewelry, accessories, puzzles, small appliances, lawn items, kitchen gadgets, household items, hand tools. Prizes can be suitable for a man, woman, or child. Gift certificates also make great prizes. If you can afford to donate a large prize, great! “Theme” or “Gift” Baskets (or NEW items for a basket that we will assemble) We are looking for individuals, a group/parish organization, or a family to donate a “theme” gift basket to chance off. Some ideas are: Coffee Time, Bath and Body, College or Professional Sports, Lottery Tickets, Gift Cards, Italian Cuisine, Kids’ Games, Bathroom, Kitchen items, Movie Night, Snacks, Candy, School Supplies, Wine, etc.

Paper Products Please donate a paper product such as paper towels, paper plates, napkins, aluminum foil, garbage bags, etc. Please watch for a sale when you are shopping, and drop them off in the Parish Office or in the box in the back of Church. Donations, such as these, are a big help in reducing expenses.
In the future, we will be looking for donations of cleaning supplies, something pretty, personal/miscellaneous items, and lottery tickets. If we all do a little at a time, it will be a BIG help!
Band and Keg Sponsors “The Polskie Swingmasters”, “T.J. Fitzpatrick”, and “Dale and the Legends” will be on the grandstand this year for our entertainment! And, what would a picnic be without a nice, cold brew-ski? If you would like to sponsor either a keg of beer or a band for $50, please contact the Parish Office. Sponsors will be posted in the entertainment area (for the band) and bar area (for the keg).
