fitting a circuit---breakerwith a support frame CAUTION
On no account must the supportframe be used to convert a fixedcircuit--breaker into a draw--outone.Once the support frame has beenfitted, fix it to the ground using the2 fixing lugs.If necessary, insert washersbetween the fixing lug and theground in order to preventdeformation of the lug.
without a support frame Fit the circuit ---breaker and fix itusing standard screws and bolts.(8 fixing points)
CAUTION
The useful depth of internalscrew threads for fitting thescrews and bolts is 18 mm.Tightening torque: 45 Nm.

forewordsafety instructions
All the operations described belowmust be performed in accordancewith applicable safety standardsunder the supervision of acompetent authority.
To access the various parts:H open the circuit ---breakerH cut the supply to the auxiliarycircuits and the main circuitH close then open the circuit---breaker by means of the pushbuttons in order to deactivatethe operating mechanismH avoid impacts(pressurised enclosure)
general rules Our equipment is designed toguarantee optimum serviceprovided that the maintenanceoperations described in thisdocument are complied with. These operations require removalof the protective covers (front plateand operating mechanism plate).Removal and replacement of thecovers is described in theinstallation instructions section. The front plate is removed
by withdrawing its clips.
cycle and maintenanceoperations
This device is designed to operatefor 10 years or 10 000 operationsin normal conditions of useaccording to the IEC 694 standard. We recommend:
--- an opening/closing operation atleast once a year--- a visual inspection at least onceevery 5 years with the GroupeSchneider service centres.

preventive maintenanceand cleaninginstructions
The pressurised SF6 gasinside the pole retains all itsdielectric properties after breaking.Electrical durability is limited bycontact wear. This wear depends on device use.We draw your attention to the riskof cleaning processes. consistingof spraying solvents at highpressure.
The main drawbacks of suchprocesses are.H damage due to jet pressure andimpossibility of re--- lubricatinginaccessible fixing points.H risk of overheating due tosolvent presence on contact areas.H elimination of specialprotections.
CAUTION
Never use solvents and alcohol.
If the insulating parts are dusty, itis recommended that you removethe dust using a dry cloth.

monitoring arcingcontact wearThis operation requires removalof the springs.
Arcing contact wear is monitoredon the operating mechanism/circuit ---breaker pole link.
Check that the circuit ---breakeris open, with its operatingmechanism deactivated.
removing the closingsprings
Slightly charge the operatingmechanism using the charginglever...
... the springs will becompressed...
..... as soon as possible insert a 6dia. 40 mm long min. screw or pininto the hole shown above.Release the lever. The springs willexert a force on the pin. On noaccount must the pin be free. (donot exceed the first notch on theoperating mechanism, or performa complete cycle and start again).

checking
Serial connect the three phases ofthe device and insert a bell typeindicator in the circuit.
Charge the operating mechanismuntil you hear a click indicatingcharging is complete.
Exert pressure on the lever and atthe same time pull the right---handcrank handle towards you until theratchet wheel is latched.
At the same time press the closing“ l ” pushbutton and the charginglever in order to release thelatching mechanism.
Very slowly close thecircuit ---breaker using the lever.Stop charging as soon as thelamp comes on: the arcingcontacts of the three phases are incontact.
CAUTION
Keep the lever in this position, withthe bell activated. If the position is overshot, repeatthe operation.
When the lamp is on, a rod with adiameter less than or equal to 6mm can be inserted in the holeshown above. For larger diameters, absence ofsignal means the device must bereplaced.
