• You must lead your team but recognise each individuals development needs- work with your coach to get the best out of every member in your team
• If you are coach and captain to your team make sure you are still getting support in terms of training and improving your own performance

Sport STARS Award
• STARS: Student Training and Activities Reward Scheme
• Start September 2011
• An award scheme to reward UCLU Sport Clubs
• Bronze, Silver and Gold Award
BRONZE
• To receive a Bronze Award your club must meet the minimum requirements of being a UCLU Sports Club
• If you do not receive a Bronze award then you will no longer be a UCLU Affiliated Sports Club
SILVER• Complete Club Development Plan and meet key
goals• Provide high standard and regular activity
throughout the year• Committee Members to attend two additional
training sessions over the course of the year- i.e. Responsible Touring, How to gain Sponsorship, How to run a Committee, Inclusive Training (timetable to be released in the Summer)
• Club to run a One Off Event with the VSU• Active engagement with UCLU
GOLD• Criteria: Your Club must go above and
beyond what is expected from a UCLU Sports Club
• Clubs nominate themselves and a panel of UCLU Sabbaticals and Staff will decide on who will receive the Gold Award
