Did you know? 

That goats were used to pull carts full of coal out of the coal mine the company  didn’t care about the 

people, only the mules ,horse’s and goats as the animals were expensive. 

Did you know?  

•  That the boy in this picture  had chewing tobacco, as young children o?en chewed  it down the mine when they were hungry.  

Did you know? 

That inside the coal mine was a very dangerous place to work as the roof could collapse and if a miner had an accident, it was very hard to get them to safety. (this picture was not real)
