School Climate that supports students and families from different cultures
Review school policy and revise or eliminate rules that punish students from cultural habits
Review institutional materials that belittle, exclude or stereotype races and cultures. Add materials that are multicultural in all subject areas at all grade levels.
Develop a basic familiarity with different cultures through staff-development or personal effort.
Eliminate word minorities from the vocabulary. Schools are preparing students for a world in which people of color are not in the minority.
Use flexible, heterogeneous, and cooperative grouping rather than ability grouping and tracking
