Principal Update
Words cannot express the gratitude that I have for our amazing SAS staff for the dedication they have for assisting our students and for contributing to the running of Condobolin Public School. Their professionalism, passion and commitment to making sure that CPS is a safe learning environment where all students are known, valued and cared for does not go unnoticed. Their flexibility is to be commended. On behalf of the Staff & Students of Condobolin Public School I thank you for all that you do as individuals and as part of our team.
THANK YOU!
Secretary’s Update-Mark Scott
Every day in our public schools there are 35,000 School Administrative and Support Staff who help keep our schools running efficiently and provide comprehensive support to principals, teachers and parents. Our SAS staff play many roles supporting the efficient management of schools, including administration, health and safety, asset management, project management and finance. They include school administrative managers and officers, school learning support officers, Aboriginal education officers, business managers, assisted travel officers, technical support officers, general assistants and farm assistants. SASS Recognition Week, which starts today, is an initiative of the Public Service Association – supported by the department – to promote the work and role of SAS staff. These staff are often the first point of contact for parents and play a vital role in customer service. With an incredible year so far – bushfires, floods, COVID-19 – our staff have had to be increasingly flexible to adapt to changing scenarios and pandemic restrictions. On behalf of the Department of Education, thank you for your service and commitment.

PBL Whole School Rewards!
Our students are SMASHING out the PBL Whole School Rewards for being STRONG, SMART & PROUD. They received an additional 20 minutes free play on Monday, Milk Shake Parties per Stage each day this week (Thank you to Romos and Happy Daze for catering) and I’ve been told that students have also achieved a Free Ice block (now this could have waited until summer!)
WELL DONE TO OUR FABULOUS STUDENTS!!!
Staff Changes
Unfortunately, we will be saying goodbye to Mrs Sarah Bartlett who will be leaving us at the end of this term. Mrs Bartlett received a transfer to Wollongong, where she will be moving to be closer to her family. Mr Cikos will be teaching 5/6B in Term 4 and will have planning time with Mrs Bartlett before she leaves to ensure a smooth transition for students. Ms Linda Porter has been appointed to the full-time position for our MC2 class. Ms Porter has been fulfilling the role as an MC teacher in Ms Lynch’s absence and is currently undertaking a University Master's Degree in Inclusive Education. Ms Dorothy Davis has been appointed as the permanent Student Learning Support Officer (SLSO) for our MC2 class. Having worked at CPS for 7.5 years and with a unanimous agreement from the executive staff for outstanding commitment and work ethic, Miss Dorothy was successfully put forward to staffing. I would also like to welcome back Ms Christine Jones and Uncle Roger (SLSO) who have both recently joined our team as additional support for all students.
COVID -19 Guidelines Update Last week an email to families was sent out with the NSW Department of Education’s guidelines for parents, update from the 17th of August. If you would like another copy, please email the school and we will get a copy to you. One of the most important updates is that if a child presents to school with cold and flu like symptoms then they will be sent home and are unable to return to school until they have had a COVID test. Before students can enter back on site, a copy of their test results must be viewed by a staff member prior to return. These conditions are in line with the professional advice from NSW Health and come straight from the NSW Department of Education. As a community, we must work together to keep our town healthy and to follow all government guidelines.
I hope you are all keeping warm and well.
Kind Regards
Mrs Jessica Neilsen Principal Condobolin Public School

CPS Attendance Card Regular and consistent school attendance is essential to learning and a
successful education. Here at Condobolin Public School we are dedicated to
improving each child’s attendance.
Questions to think about??????
How is your attendance going this term?
Have you been seeing lots of green dots on your attendance card? Has
this helped you to realise how many days you are missing or coming late to
school?
What about the yellow stickers? They mean that you had a day away from
school but you explained why you were away with a note for being sick or
having an appointment.
Here are the ways you can notify the school of an absence-
Phoning the school on 6895 2134
Sending a written note with your child when they return
Using the Condobolin Public School App, clicking ‘Absence’ on the home
screen and completing the details.
Tips to help improve your child‛s attendance
Talk to your child about school and how important it is. You can ask them how they feel about school, what they liked and if there are any problems. Have a set time to do homework and go to bed. Leave all technology out of their bedroom. Pack their lunch and school bag the night before with everything they need, including their school uniform out and ready. Have a set time to wake up and eat breakfast.
Remember, IF YOU DON‛T HAVE BREAKFAST BEFORE SCHOOL YOU CAN always go to Breakfast Club and enjoy a yummy breakfast each day!
Condobolin Schools as Community Centres playgroup: Completing resource
packs at home. Resource packs are sent out weekly to SACC & Catholic
Care Playgroup families.

home. If you don’t have a school library bag you can use a plastic or reusable shopping bag, a pillowcase
that is no longer needed or any other bag you may have. There will be a reward for the class who has the
highest percentage of borrowers at the end of the term and for the most consistent borrowers in each
class.
