How to Find Course Syllabus and Professor Contacts in Syllabus
Step 1. Go to the course registration website (http://sugang.inha.ac.kr) and click,
Curriculum < Syllabus button on the left column.
Step 2. Search Syllabus either by Professor Name, Course Title or Course Number.
Then download the syllabus to find your professor’s email contact information.

Overview of the Insurance Plan
Inha University introduces an insurance plan at a reasonable cost.

※ Inha introduces an insurance effective for 6months, every semester.

Step 1. Prepare 77,000 KRW in cash and your student ID card
* You can pick up you student ID card, at the INFO DESK (3rd Floor of the Main Building)
Step 2. Visit the ISL during the application period.

Death/Physical Disability by an accident:KRW 20m.
Death by a disease: KRW 10m
Domestic Hospitalization for Injury/Sickness: KRW 10m.

16 Tuberculosis Test required countries (2014, Dec)
Students from the listed countries above should take a Tuberculosis test at the Incheon Nam-gu
Health Center in order to apply for Alien Registration. For students’ convenience, we will schedule
group visits and prepare shuttle buses.

General Student Visa
What is a Visa?
Korean law defines a visa as a “recommendatory action by a consul to apply for entry by a
foreigner.” Those not meeting the necessary requirements may be denied entry into the country. In
general, exchange/visiting students are required to apply for a D-2 (General Student) visa.
“Certificate of Admission” for the D-2 Visa
In your acceptance packet, you will receive your Certificate of Admission form, which you will
need to take to the Korea Embassy or Consulate in your country to apply for a D-2 visa. Be
prepared to take an original bank statement accompanied by a letter of financial support from
parents or other sponsors if applicable.

Basic required documents for D-2 visa application

Visa Issue Certificate
For applicants who are from China or Cuba, the University will apply for student visas at the Seoul
Immigration Office to get your visa issuance number. We will contact each student to help them to
get a real visa at the Korean embassy or consulate once we have the visa issuance number.

To study in Korea for more than 90 days, you need to apply for a D-2 student visa. A student visa can be obtained
at a Korean consulate, usually overnight. It can also be extended here in Seoul without having to leave Korea.

Note:
1. If you have a C-3 Visa or a type of short-term visa instead of a D-2 Visa, you must change
your visa status within 30 days after arriving in Korea.
2. There are two types of visas: a single entry and a multiple entry visa. If you want to travel
abroad during your stay in Korea, we suggest you get a multiple entry type. The embassy or
a consulate will issue you a single entry visa if you do not specifically request otherwise.
3. If you want to take Korean language classes, you can apply for a D-4 Visa. More information
is available at: http://ltc.inha.ac.kr/.
Customs Clearance
Upon arrival, you must have the following documents ready for inspection:

► Disembarkation Card
If you have nothing to declare for customs, pass through the green line. If you have items to
declare, go to the red line to process the appropriate documentation. For a detailed list of goods

Change of Stay Right
What is a Visa?
If you just come to Korea as a tourist, you have to change your visa type to the proper visa before
the school begins. And you must visit the local Immigration office to report your information every
time if you work or move to a new place. In this sense, we strongly advise you consult with
International Office or Immigration Counseling Center (Just call 1345)
Leave of Absence
All international students who have taken leave of absence from school must leave the country
within 15 days from the day of the application. So as to be aware of the problems that may arise

regarding the leave, foreign students are advised to receive counseling from the Office of
International Affairs prior to the application.
1. You must surrender your alien registration card to the Immigration officer when leaving the
country.
2. Those who wish to return to school must register at the school homepage at a specified
period of time designated for returning to school. After which, you can possibly obtain a new
Overseas Student Visa (D-2). Furthermore, in order to receive an admission letter, you must
send your address, contact number, and a copy of passport to the Office of International
Affairs (OIA) for undergraduate students
3. Once the admission letter is received, you can go to the Korean Embassy/Consulate nearest
you to apply for the Overseas Student Visa (D-2). After obtaining the said visa, you can enter
Korea and apply for a new alien registration card.
Back to School
If you file for a leave of absence from school, then you must leave the country within 30 days from
the first day when your application is approved. However, those who are confined to the hospital are
exempted from this. As for returning back to school, you have to send the important documents
relating to the issuance of your visa listed below to the admissions officer in at least one month
before classes start. Once the university acceptance letter is received from the admissions officer,
you can go to the Korean embassy/consulate nearest you to apply for a visa. However, if you are
from China, you have to send other necessary documents listed below to the admissions officer.

Management of Stay
Extension of Stay
If you want to extend your visa, you must apply for permission before the period of your stay
expires. The Immigration Office will accept requests two months before the expiration date of your
visa. If the applicant fails to apply within the time period, the individual will pay a penalty. You will
need the following items:

► Attached documents per status of stay ► Processing Fee of 60,000 KRW
Change of Sojourn Status
Those who have an invalid visa must change the visa type before the university begins. Or they
have to visit the local Immigration office to get permission before they start working or researching in
Korea.
Re-entry Permits
Registered foreigners staying for more than 91 days who want to depart and re-enter during your
stay in Korea, need to apply for a re-entry permit. If you are exempt from registration, but intend on
leaving Korea and entering again, you will also need to apply for a re-entry permit, as well. You may
apply for the re-entry permit at the Seoul Immigration Office or at the Immigration Office at the
Incheon International Airport.
If you plan on using by the Immigration Office at the Incheon International Airport, please plan
ahead and allow for enough time to process the documents before your flight departs.
For a Re-Entry Permit you will need:
► Valid Passport
► Alien Registration Card (if applicable)
► Application Form (available on the Immigration Office Website)
► Fee of 60,000KRW for a Single Re-Entry Permit
► Fee of 100,000KRW for a Multiple Re-Entry Permit
* Fee will be waivered to students who hold D-2 visa.
Note: If you are from a country that is exempt from applying for a re-entry permit, you do not need
to apply. Korean residents and F-4 visa holders do not need to apply for a re-entry permit.

STEP 1. Open the file ‘INHA-WLAN2.mobileconfig’ file sent to your email by the International Office
in the Device.
STEP 2. Click and install the attached file.
STEP 3. Log in with your student ID and PW to access Wi-Fi.
