Market Trends
Businesses need more efficient operating models
Technological advancementfuels disruptive change
VoIP - Voice and data convergence• Drives network consolidation/convergence• Convergence already in the LAN (IP-PBX)• Convergence beginning in the WAN (SIP)• Possibly the next major market disruption
Next Generation IP networks will drive 4 stages of market transformation
Cloud - IT & Telecoms Convergence• Cloud now practical due to “utility” networks• Virtual computing & mobility drives cloud• CPE is migrating to the network; drives solution &
support simplification & cost red.
Utility data - Affordable, hi-speed, everywhere• Broadband penetration – evolving to FTTC?• Migration to higher speed ethernet• All-IP networks support data convergence
(e.g. integration of b’band, FTTC, ethernet)
Mobility - Fixed and Mobile Convergence• Convergence exists in places at CPE level –
wireless computing, PBX mobile clients• BYOD Smart-phone user “rebellion” - may also
ultimately drive FMS & IP replacement of TDM
Meta-trend:Economic & technology virtuous change cycle
Mobilise your workforce with UC&C tools on wireless devices- Improve operational efficiency
TRANSFORM ICT systems using Cloud and hosted technologies.

EFM Product Overview
TalkTalk EFM is an efficient use of existing, proven infrastructure. It uses multiple bonded copper pairs to deliver an Ethernet service.
FTTC Product Overview
• Mini DSLAMs are installed near to or into existing street cabinets• Fibre connects new DSLAM cabinet to the exchange• Voice and data transmit over copper to the cabinet• Data travels over Fibre to the exchange – voice travels over copper
• Increased possible speeds as DSLAM is closer to CPE• Reduced susceptibility to electrical interference
