VCAL Programs
At Year 11 level there are two streams:
FOUNDATION VCAL:this pathway is for students who require extra support in the classroom and is chosen by a student in consultation with MSC Wellbeing staff, Partnership School staff, the student and their parent/guardian. Generally a 1 Year program at MSC but some students go n to Intermediate level the following year.
The program is a set all and supported by a classroom aide: • Literacy• Numeracy• Work Related• Personal Development • Food and Technology• VET Retail
INTERMEDIATE VCAL: for students who are looking for a pathway that leads them to employment in the work place. Rather than reading novels and plays, students look at documents that are applicable to everyday living situations eg: contracts, instruction manuals, CV’s etc. To be successful in VCAL, students need to be motivated, able to work well independently and with other people, show initiative and be flexible.
Change for 2015:• VCAL Work Related and Personal Development are combined
