SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENT
To Santa Claus
At the North Pole
Dear Saint Nicholas,
You know where I live. You have been coming by here for the past
50 years. I have not moved and expect to be here for another 50
years or more, so, as usual, I hope you will come again this year.
Every church in the archdiocese in which I live has been asked to
make a “wish list” of things they need done in their parishes so
that they might all “Rebuild and Renew”.
As you know from coming here for so long, there is always some-
thing to do in the House of God and with the Divine Assistance we
have done it.
We just celebrated our Golden Jubilee. We are happy and proud
that we have kept things up pretty well around here but as soon as
we do or fix something, there is something else that needs doing.
We know that “God helps those who help themselves” and he has
certainly helped us out many times over the many years.
What we are asking you for this year is for your saintly interces-
sion to inspire us to pitch in to the new campaign that will raise
the money to repair and improve our parish church as we begin
moving to our next big anniversary.
If you were able, you could deliver us a new sound system, a new
heating and cooling system, new roofs for rectory and school to
stop leaks and give a solid platform for solar panels (if feasible), a
fresh coat of paint for the church, the establishment of an endow-
ment fund, and maybe a new organ.

Advent Giving Tree
Our Giving Tree has been on display in the church vestibule since Tuesday, November 22
nd.
The tree, as in past years, is decorated with gift tags. Each tag lists an item for a needy child or adult. Please select a tag, purchase the item listed and return it gift-wrapped and
the tag attached, to the Forum (NOT THE SCHOOL) the weekend of December 10
th & 11
th only so that gifts can be
delivered in time for Christmas.
No gifts can be left in the Forum before, or after that week-end because there is no room to store them.
Thank you for your cooperation and for making Christmas brighter for others.

I know that all these things can’t fit into your sled, so I am asking
for your prayers that the children of God here will be pitching in
with five year pledges so we can have the funds to make these
things happen as time moves forward.
You are the patron of gift giving, so I know that your prayerful in-
tercession in the sight of God will succeed in sending that giving
spirit to my friends here, letting God help us to be generous as the
campaign begins in the new year, the first toward our next 50th
.
Thank you very much and a Merry Christmas to you and your
helpers!
