Appearance
All 6 meters standardized to same shape New form is identical to previous version of the Nitrate meter
Three buttons (On/Off, Measure, Calibrate) Scoop sensor with lid
Performance Comparison
Comparison tests run between Cardy and LAQUA meters Output from meters correlated well with each other
Compatibility
Calibration solutions for LAQUA meters are compatible with Cardy equivalent
Sensor replacement for Cardy meters• LAQUA NO3
- and pH sensors are compatible with Cardy meters
• Other Cardy sensors will be available for 7 years
In most cases, item numbers for LAQUA meters are the Cardy item number plus an “L”
Changes from Cardy Meters
Larger temperature range 20% larger font size on LCD Battery life reduced from 500 hours
continuous use to 200 (100 for EC meter) Waterproof (IP67)
• Can be submerged to depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes Note: Cannot be used under water
• Less need for sampling sheets
Na+ solutions now sold individually All meters now have a Special Setting Mode

Calibration
Use standard solutions provided for calibration• For accurate calibration across full range, run two-point calibration
1. Press and hold the MEAS button for over 3 seconds in the Measurement mode
3. Press the MEAS button to display the current calibration setting
2. Press the CAL button until the “CAL” icon appears
4. Press the CAL switch until “2” (two-point calibration) appears
Setting for Two-point Calibration
5. Press the MEAS switch to apply the settings
Sample Applications
3 different methods for measuring liquids• Immersion – in the lab
• Scoop – in the field
• Drops – for small volume as low as 0.1 mL (pH)
Sample Applications
Ability to measure solids• Note: Do not apply solids to Conductivity meter (item # 2205L)
Results
Stability icon appears when results are ready• Note: pH meter (item # 2103AL) can read 2 decimal places
Cleaning Clean sensor with tap water
• Old Cardy meters recommended sampling sheets to keep the user from scratching the sensor
• LAQUA meters have less need for sampling sheets, due to ability to easily flush solids from sensor area
Gently wipe the sensor
