What is the main goal of EU 2014-2020 direct
funding?
To achieve the objectives of Europe 2020
strategy.
This means that:
the new programs will be oriented to this goal;
more resources will be allocated to those sectors
that will play a decisive role in this regard.

Proposed budget:
€2.5 billion
The Program for the Competitiveness of
Enterprises and SMEs will continue to support a
large extent the actions foreseen in the current
program for entrepreneurship and innovation,
excluding support for innovation that will feed
into the new Horizon 2020 program.

COSME will focus on actions to:
1. improve the conditions for ensuring the
competitiveness and sustainability of EU
enterprises, including in the tourism sector;
2. promote entrepreneurship, including among
specific target groups;
3. improve access to finance for SMEs in the form
of equity and debt;
4. improve access to markets both the Union and
the rest of the world.

The Framework program for research and innovation "Horizon 2020“ aims to modernize the framework of EU funding for research and innovation by bringing together for the first time in a single instrument all existing EU funds for these sectors.
Proposed budget: over €80 billion

The program will focus on three strategic priorities:
1. Strengthening the EU's excellence in science in the world,
growing talent in Europe, and attracting leading
researchers plan (priority "scientific excellence", 27.8
billion euro);
2. The consolidation of European leadership in the field of
enabling and industrial technologies, promoting innovation
in SMEs with high growth potential and promotion an
easier access to risk capital funding for R & D (priority
"industrial leadership", 20.2 billion euro);
3. Response to major social challenges identified in the
Europe 2020 strategy, supporting research in all strategic
areas (priority "Societal Challenges", 35.8 billion euro).

Erasmus for All will replace, into a single
program, the seven existing programs in the
fields of education, training and youth:
Lifelong Learning;
Youth in Action;
the five international cooperation programs in
higher education (Erasmus Mundus, Tempus,
Alfa, Edulink and the bilateral cooperation
program with industrialized countries)

Erasmus for All will continue to support: research and teaching in the field of European
integration (Jean Monnet); European cooperation in the field of sport, (including the fight against doping and violence and the promotion of good governance of sports organizations). Proposed budget: €19.111 billion Reference documents: COM (2011) 787 and COM (2011)

The Europe for Citizens program, with a simplified
structure, will match substantially the homonym
program 2007-2013 and its objective is to:
Promote civic participation;
Increase the awareness and knowledge of the
Union of citizens.
Proposed budget: 229 million euro.

The program will continue to support:
partnerships between cities (twinning);
transnational networks;
initiatives to commemorate the history of Europe;
the promotion of European debate;
the reflection on citizenship and European values and on issues related to the EU.
